WINTER BREAK - some nourishing time away from daily occupations for inspiration, rest and joy.
20.11.2025 - 6.1.2026

I’ll be retreating for a little while this winter, cherishing time away with my family, before returning to the work with you in January, that I love so much.

Take a good amount of time for yourself during this quiet season of the year.

WHY WORKING WITH TRAUMA THROUGH YOUR SOMA (body) IS A KEY ELEMENT FOR HEALING:

Bessel van der Kolk emphasizes on a holistic and body-centered approach: In his work he highlights how trauma physically changes the brain and body, leading to a state of being „stuck“ in survival mode. Therefore it is essential for healing to re-regulate the nervous system through mind-body practices.

He is critical of therapies like traditional cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and exposure therapy, arguing that they are not enough because trauma is not just a cognitive issue but a physical and emotional one. He believes that talking about trauma may not be sufficient to heal the deep, physical impact.

Somatic body work with focusing on working with Trauma emphasizes on initial assessment: When first meeting you, I will focus on your posture, eyes, and breathing patterns to understand how your primitive brain is still controlling your behavior and preventing you from engaging with the world.

One of the core principles we will work on is: SAFETY

The ultimate goal of SOMATIC WORK is to help you feel safe in your own bodies and minds, thereby regaining a sense of agency and control.

Healing involves shifting from a state of being constantly on alert to one where the body can be present and calm.

So thankful for the community .sanctuary_ , the trust and care, the love and respect for each other.

In 2023 I didn’t know how it will be to manage a community with 14-18 people. Now I know, that I love to share the sanctuary with you and I have to say, that all of you make it very easy for me to love my role as the main-caretaker of the place here.

I hope that we will created this change - all together - globally - for us, for our elders, for our children, for our earth, for all living on this planet - so that we can soon breath in the needed fresh air 🌿

Our Story

“To lead a happy life, you need to be in touch with it.” The idea of BE IN TOUCH started in 2015 as a personal project seeking to bring people in touch with themselves. Since then, the project has been growing in a direction that is very dear to me: connecting people with themselves and with each other. ​On the one hand, the inward journey aiming at creating time and space for personal growth and improvement is part of my daily work with clients, either individually or within groups, workshops and retreats. Together we can encounter our deep fears and pains. Together we share, learn and inspire each other. ​On the other hand, BE IN TOUCH is a community-based work, where people with similar interests meet and support each other. Moving away from a competitive way of working, this project's purpose is to contribute to an attitude shift where support, respect and will to listen to each other are the essential basis on which personal growth can flourish. ABOUT BARBARA

My journey on the path of training my awareness started in 2000. My first encounter with awareness-development techniques was through Hatha-Yoga, which became a dear and generous friend. Over the years, I have attended many Asana classes and silent meditation retreats throughout the world, diving into the secrets of Reiki with a Russian shaman or participating in training in Ayurvedic massage in India. In 2010, I discovered the Grinberg Method, which has now become one of the pillars of my professional daily life. From the very first session, I found intriguing that there be somebody capable of teaching me how to communicate with my body in such a way that I can, by myself, overcome any crisis. For me, this is freedom. After working as a Grinberg Method Practitioner since 2010 and founding with my colleague Daniela Rocher the community space RAUM FÜR NEUES in Vienna, I attended my first yoga teacher training in 2016 with master Prasad Reangnekar. I have continued with further education in 2017 at Yogawerkstatt Wien with Romana Delberg for Pre- + Postnatal Yoga, 2018 I completed my +300hr with Prasad Rangnekar in India, followed by the first part of Trauma Sensitive Yoga in 2019 with Joachim Pfahl. Both the Somatic Coaching and the journey into the science and philosophy of Yoga fill me with joy every day. I feel deeply grateful to teach and inspire people who have started walking on this path. It’s one of the greatest gifts when you realize, that you have the power to follow your heart within.
