A 24-year-old woman went to the emergency room complaining of acute right upper quadrant abdominal pain. A contrast-enhanced CT was performed, showing an exophytic lesion in the right hepatic lobe. An MRI was subsequently performed for further characterization. Medical history revealed only a recent diagnosis of maturity-onset diabetes of the young–3 (MODY 3).

This case has been kindly prepared by Dr. Maria Beatriz Sacramento a radiology resident at ULS Santo António Universitary Hospital Center in Porto, Portugal.

A 56-year-old female patient presents in the ER with vague epigastric discomfort for the past few weeks and a relative lack of appetite, with no stated weight loss. The patient had undergone cholecystectomy in the past. Apart from a palpable liver, the clinical examination was otherwise inconsequential. The laboratory tests reported mild elevations in ALT/AST and ALP, normal WBC count and negative inflammatory markers. An initial ultrasound examination showed hypoechoic lesions in the liver and a CT-exam was ordered.

This case has been kindly prepared by Dr. Christos Korres a third year resident of Radiology Department at Konstantopouleio General Hospital, N. Ionia, Athens, Greece.
