🚶Stay Steady, Keep Moving

Balance and mobility help us move confidently through everyday life - whether that’s walking the dog, gardening, exercising, or simply getting up from a chair.

As we age, balance, flexibility and joint mobility can change. Staying active and paying attention to how our bodies move can help support stability and confidence in daily activities.

A few simple habits that may help include:
✅ Regular walking or gentle exercise
✅ Strength or resistance training where appropriate
✅ Balance-focused activities like yoga or pilates
✅ Stretching and mobility exercises

At Aberfoyle Spinal Centre, our Chiropractors focus on supporting spinal health, movement and function. We work with patients to support healthy movement and discuss everyday habits that can help keep you active and moving well.

If you’re curious about how chiropractic care can support you, our friendly team is here to help.

🛏️ How’s Your Neck Feeling in the Morning?

Sleep is when your body restores and repairs - but if your neck isn’t properly supported, you may not wake feeling your best.

At Aberfoyle Spinal Centre, we regularly chat with patients about sleep posture, healthy habits and maintaining good spinal alignment overnight. Chiropractic care focuses on supporting spinal health and movement, and your pillow can play an important role in that.

That’s why we stock and recommend Posture Form Pillows - Australian made, family owned, and designed to support the natural curve of your neck and encourage a more neutral sleep position.

If mornings aren’t feeling great, come in and have a chat with us about your setup.

💪 Why Strength and Spinal Health Matter

As we move through adulthood, our bodies naturally change. From around our 30s, bone density begins to gradually decline, which is a normal part of ageing.

This is why keeping muscles strong and staying active matters. Strong muscles help support our bones and joints, while good spinal health plays an important role in posture, balance and everyday movement.

Chiropractic care focuses on assessing and supporting spinal and joint movement. For many people, this can form part of a broader approach to maintaining mobility, managing stiffness, and supporting an active lifestyle as they age.

At Aberfoyle Spinal Centre, we take a personalised approach, working with you to support your spinal health and movement goals at every stage of life.

🌱 Healthy Habits Made Simple

Healthy habits are often the small things done consistently - staying active, eating healthy, taking breaks from sitting, prioritising rest, and listening to your body.

For many people, regular chiropractic care is part of their healthy habits routine, helping them stay aware of their spinal health and movement with guidance from a qualified health professional.

At Aberfoyle Spinal Centre, we provide personalised care to support your individual health goals and lifestyle.

If you’re curious about your spinal health or whether chiropractic care could be part of your healthy habits, our friendly team is here to help!

🌿 Mind Your Posture While You Garden This Spring 🌿

As we wrap up the spring season, many of us are spending more time outdoors - finishing up gardening projects, tidying the yard, or mowing the lawn before summer arrives.

A few simple tips to help you stay comfortable:
🌱 Warm up first with a few gentle stretches.
🌼 Bend at the hips and knees when lifting.
🍃 Change positions often to avoid overworking one area.
💧 Take regular breaks and stay hydrated.

At Aberfoyle Spinal Centre, we love helping our community stay active and move well. If you’d like some guidance, tailored exercises, or professional care for your spine, our friendly team is here to help.

Work-related musculoskeletal disorders (WMSDs) – what are they?

A range of inflammatory and degenerative conditions affecting the muscles, tendons, ligaments, joints, peripheral nerves and supporting blood vessels, WMSDs may be caused by a single workspace event, but commonly result from repeated harmful workspace activities over an extended period of time.

WorkSpace Week aims to reduce the occurrence and impact of WMSDs caused by physical stress, mental stress, repetitive work and poorly set up non-ergonomic workspaces. Chronic neck and back pain, shoulder stiffness and headaches can be linked to modifiable risk factors in Australian workplaces.

This WorkSpace Week (20-26 Oct), adjust your thinking to work well every day! Explore free resources, hints and tips at www.workspaceweek.org.au - because prevention is the best protection!
