Your bones are constantly adapting to the loads you place on them.
That means activities like strength training, jumping, and impact exercise don’t just build muscle - they actually signal your bones to become denser and stronger over time. On the flip side, long periods of inactivity can cause bone density to gradually decrease.
It’s one of the reasons resistance training and weight-bearing exercise are so important for staying strong, active, and injury-resistant as we age.
If you’d like to learn more about how exercise protects bone health and reduces fracture risk, we’ve released a new blog on the Fortis website covering the key exercises that help keep bones strong.
You’ll also find it in our latest Fortis Newsletter, along with a few other things the team has been up to recently.
