💜 Today is Beyond Boundaries Rehab’s final day of operations… and I don’t think any amount of planning could have prepared me for the emotions of this moment.

Over the past week, we have been completely overwhelmed by the messages, memories, photos, stories, and love that have poured in - from current clients, past clients, past staff, colleagues, community partners, and people who have walked alongside us in so many different ways over the years.

If I’m honest, I’ve cried more times than I can count 🥹
But every tear has been matched with an enormous amount of pride and gratitude.

BBR began as one slightly outrageous dream and grew into something far bigger than I ever imagined. But none of it - absolutely none of it - would have happened without the people who trusted us, believed in us, and allowed us into their lives.

💜 To our clients ... past and present
Thank you for letting us be part of your stories.
Thank you for your courage, your humour, your honesty, your chaos, your milestones, your humanity.
Thank you for the first steps, the first words, the struggles, the celebrations, the quiet moments, and the loud ones.
Supporting you has been one of the greatest privileges of my life.

💛 To the families
Thank you for opening your homes, hearts, and worlds to us.
For every cup of tea, every honest conversation, every moment of trust.
We saw you. We valued you. We walked with you. And we carry your stories with us forever.

💜 To every staff member who ever wore the BBR shirt
Thank you for your passion, your creativity, your humour, your resilience, and your heart.
Thank you for the long days, the tough days, the joyful days, and everything in between.
You helped build something extraordinary ... something that changed lives, shaped a community, and set a new standard for what therapy can be.
I am endlessly proud of the work we did together.

💛 To our community, partners, referrers, and supporters
Thank you for believing in our mission, for cheering us on, for collaborating, for referring, for sponsoring, for showing up.
You helped us grow from a tiny idea into a movement of connection, inclusion, and possibility.

BBR may be closing its doors today, but its impact is woven into the lives and futures of thousands of people - and nothing can take that away.

I am heartbroken.
I am proud.
I am exhausted.
I am grateful beyond words.

And although this chapter ends today, the mission continues.

I’ll be carrying everything I’ve learned - and everything BBR stood for - into my work with the Support Worker Association of Australia (SWAA), where I’ll continue advocating for the rights, recognition, and support that this sector desperately deserves.

But today… today is simply about gratitude.

Thank you, from the deepest part of my heart, for ten extraordinary years.
Thank you for trusting us.
Thank you for letting us love and support your children, your families, and your futures.
Thank you for being part of something brave, different, and beautiful.

BBR’s story ends here, but its spirit, and its impact - will live on in every life it touched.

With all my love,
Carly 💜

💜 Share Your BBR Memory 💜

As we prepare to head in to our last week before Beyond Boundaries Rehab closes, we have received so many amazing stories and memories from current and past clients, staff and connections!

It made me realise how important it is to fill these last moments of BBR with the joy, stories, memories and all the magic this community has given us over the past ten years.

If you’ve been part of BBR - whether recently or way back in the early days - we would absolutely love to hear:

✨ your favourite memory
✨ a funny moment we can all smile about
✨ a goal you or your child achieved
✨ a staff member who made a difference
✨ or a moment where BBR helped you feel seen, supported, or hopeful

These stories will be shared with all of our current team and the past team members who have helped shape the amazing journey we have been on - a way to celebrate their amazing contributions to BBR and our community.

Your words will mean the world to us. 💜

You can share your story by:

Big or small, joyful or tender - every story counts.

Let’s celebrate this final week by remembering everything we’ve created together.

Thank you for being part of our journey.

After almost ten incredible years… Beyond Boundaries Rehab will be closing on December 12th, 2025.

Typing that feels surreal. My heart is heavy and breaking, yet also full - of love and gratitude. WHAT A RIDE it has been.

BBR has been my fourth child - a living, breathing extension of my heart, my hope, and my belief that life should never be limited by disability, circumstance, or fear.

When I started BBR, I had three little ones under five, no business experience, and one big, slightly outrageous dream - that I could build something that truly changed lives.

And somehow, we did.

We built the first private interdisciplinary rehab and tone management clinic for children living with CP and movement disorders - a model that didn’t exist before, and one that opened doors for so many incredible services that followed.

We survived the start-up chaos, the NDIS rollercoaster, and even a global pandemic (because who doesn’t love homeschooling and business ownership at the same time 🙃).

We grew from a home-based service into an all-ages clinic, a gym, and a mobile team who’ve supported thousands of clients across the Hunter and far beyond.

We founded the Hunter Disability Expo, now one of Australia’s largest and most successful disability expo's.

We supported community projects like Hunter Children’s Research Foundation, Days for Girls, Rotary, Taking Paediatrics Abroad, and the annual Children’s Christmas Party, because community is at the heart of everything we do.

And we walked alongside some of the bravest humans I’ve ever met - from babies taking their first steps, to teens finding their first words, to adults rediscovering their independence.
We’ve shared first jobs, first friendships, and the joy (and chaos) of growing up.

We’ve also stood quietly beside families during life’s hardest moments - where therapy became about holding space, sharing laughter through tears, and cherishing every single day.
Those moments changed me forever. Therapy is more than progress - it’s presence, connection, and love.

But the truth is this:
The NDIS has evolved into a space where it’s no longer possible for me to deliver the quality, ethical, evidence-based supports that I promised our clients.

To keep going would mean compromising those values - and that’s not something I can do.

So as heartbreaking as it is, this decision is the only ethical one I can make.

Every client will be personally supported through their transition - that’s my promise. 💜

To every family, client, referrer, and team member who’s ever believed in us:

Thank you - For the laughter, the trust, the tears, and the shared moments that made this journey so extraordinary.

BBR’s story may be ending, but its impact will keep rippling through every life we’ve touched - in the people who’ve grown stronger, the families who’ve found hope, and the community that now believes a life without limits is truly possible.

As I’ve always said - everything is fixable.
And sometimes, fixing means letting go, so something new can grow.

With endless gratitude,

Carly 💜

🌱 We’re growing - and we’re looking for Occupational Therapist’s who want to do meaningful work, with good humans, in a flexible, supportive team.

At Beyond Boundaries Rehab, we don’t do cookie-cutter therapy.
We believe creativity is clinical reasoning, and collaboration is at the heart of every good outcome.

Our work is complex, community-based, and deeply human - with clients who challenge us, inspire us, and remind us daily why this profession matters.

We value innovation, accessibility, resilience, joy, and collaboration - not just in our therapy, but in how we work together as a team.

You’ll have autonomy, trust, and a team that genuinely has your back.
You’ll also have flexible hours, birthday leave, EAP access, professional development days, mentoring, and therapy dog cuddles (yes, really).

We have:
• 1 permanent OT role (start ASAP)
• 1 maternity leave cover (Feb 2026 start, clinical mentor role, potential to extend to permanent)

Full-time or part-time (minimum 3 days/week) - you design your own week.

If you’re an experienced OT (with 5+ years’ experience) who’s ready for a role that blends professional challenge, creativity, and real-world impact; we’d love to chat.

“I Am Heard. I Am Seen. I Am Me.”

This Down Syndrome Awareness Month, we’re celebrating voices that deserve to be heard, loud and proud.

At Beyond Boundaries Rehab, inclusion means more than access - it means agency. Our role as therapists is to listen, adapt, and empower people to express who they are in ways that feel authentic and meaningful.

Because every voice, movement, and moment tells a story - and every story matters.

💜 This OT Week, we’re honouring the quiet, powerful moments where meaningful change happens.

Not the big dramatic transformations - but the everyday acts of creativity, compassion, and problem-solving that help people live life their way.

To every OT bringing compassion, creativity and problem-solving into real life - thank you.

If you’re an experienced OT who sees yourself in this work, we’d love to connect - even if you’re just curious.

No pressure.
No push.
Just people.

When we say new staff photos, we don’t mean boring headshots. Instead, each team member was asked to bring a mystery object from home 🏠 - with no idea why. The result? A collection of props that perfectly (and hilariously) represent who we are beyond the job titles.

From quirky to practical, sentimental to downright silly… These photos tell you more about our team than a headshot ever could. 💛

Because at BBR we’re all about personality, connection, and of course, a little bit of fun along the way! 🌟

At Beyond Boundaries Rehab, we know that not every disability can be seen - and that’s okay. 💜

Hidden disabilities like autism, ADHD, chronic pain, brain injury, or mental health challenges can affect how a person experiences the world, learns, and connects. But with the right understanding and support, every individual can thrive.

Our therapy approach is built on listening first, collaborating closely, and creating personalised pathways that honour each person’s unique strengths and challenges.

Because inclusion isn’t just about accessibility - it’s about empathy, awareness, and making space for every story. 🌱

“I Am Learning. I Am Growing.”

At BBR, we see growth in all its forms - from the first independent step to a new skill mastered, or the confidence to try something new. 🌱

Down Syndrome Awareness Month reminds us that independence doesn’t look the same for everyone - and that’s a beautiful thing.

Our team works side-by-side with people of all abilities to build skills, confidence, and meaningful participation in everyday life. Because progress isn’t about perfection - it’s about potential. 💪
