125 Years of Caring. One unforgettable night.

On Saturday, 25 October, our Care 24-7 emergency doctors and nurses joined Calvary Healthcare SA to celebrate 125 years of caring for South Australians, from humble beginnings at North Adelaide in 1900 to a statewide network delivering maternity, medical, surgical, oncology, palliative and emergency care.

We were proud to stand alongside our Calvary partners who continue to support, heal and comfort communities across South Australia, from Berri in the Riverland through to Victor Harbour and the Flinders Far North.

And we have to say… our emergency team looked fantastic on the night - the best-looking team in town! 💫

🏓 A big congratulations to our very own Sharad Pandit, Managing Director of Care 24-7, and Sarah Sandley, Marketing Director at Care 24-7, who have once again taken home the doubles title at the Table Tennis Australia National Championships (60+ category)!

New leadership, same unwavering care ❤️

We’re proud to welcome Dr Jeet Kalsi and Dr Farhat Zarei to our Calvary Health Care Hobart - Lenah Valley and St John’s Hospitals Emergency Department leadership team.

Dr Kalsi joins us in December 2025 as Medical Director, bringing over two decades of international emergency experience.
Dr Zarei will take up the Deputy Medical Director role in February 2026, bringing deep expertise and a long-standing connection to Hobart’s healthcare community.

On 30 September at Calvary Adelaide Hospital, our emergency teams came together for an evening of learning, because your emergency is always our priority.

We hosted a dedicated educational evening for all our Emergency Department doctors and nurses, reinforcing our commitment to excellence, lifelong learning and readiness to act.

⭕ Dr Anthony Chuang presented the new 2025 ACS (acute coronary syndromes) guidelines, including updated terminology, risk stratification and faster decision pathways under the new ACOMI model.

⭕ Dr Martie Botha shared real-world insights into recognising and managing trauma in older patients, highlighting how age, frailty and mechanisms of injury change the approach.

⭕ Our Deputy Director, Dr Dilyara Mulraney, brought to life case learnings from falls in older people, illustrating how guideline-based assessment, multidisciplinary coordination and targeted interventions improve outcomes.

We believe in investing in our people across all sites, so that when emergencies come, we respond with confidence, compassion and the very latest evidence.
