It is a real honour to have our newly minted Australian national health and wealth heat map covered in The Medical Republic.

These are some of his interesting thoughts....

“When you take a whole lot of data about GP billing and behaviour, and mash it up with other interesting data about incomes of the region, voting intentions, and other social and health-related data, and then you throw it all on an expandable geo map of Australia, what you suddenly realise is there’s a whole lot of things that you took for granted that maybe you shouldn’t have.”

Publisher: Jeremy Knibbs The Medical Republic

The point of the map is to start a global conversation on health and financial literacy. Hopefully, it will nudge us all into what is right for you.

We have just published a myth buster called Health and Life Heat Map. It is an evidenced-based national map of your local neigbourhood. Find out how much does your local GP's charge or how much do you earn compared to your neighbour.

This has been a vo**uristic and enlightening look at the most challenging and topical things we want to know about our local neighbourhood.

Want to know how much your local GP charges, or whether you have enough hospital beds to meet the COVID19 border opening deadline? Are wealthier people happier? Who is winning the war on type two diabetes?

The FREE Health and Life Heat Map is an Interactive Map that provides evidence-based publicly available government and private data about the Australian health and well-being sector. The purpose is to encourage constructive fact-checked debate on critical issues that affect your daily life. This information is based on publicly available data in your local area. For example:

What is the average income in your neighbourhood?
Do more males or females live in your area? How old are they?
Do you live in a healthy neighbourhood?
Do you have access to a doctor, hospital or aged care services?
If you are not Covid vaccinated, can your local hospital provide appropriate care?
How much do GPs and specialists in your local area charge?
How did your neighbours vote in the last Federal and State elections?
Please share the Heat Map. Start planning your practice by generating a constructive chat based on facts and not assumptions.

Aust. ranked no.3 out of 11 rich countries in the world. Australia would have ranked no.1 in healthcare. Access understandably let us down. We are a big country. We are no.1 for Outcomes and Equity! Congrats everyone!!

The United States trails far behind other high-income countries on measures of health care affordability, administrative efficiency, equity, and outcomes.

Is it time for doctors to stop being "hero's"? Is it bad for everyone? Is this the real ""elephant in the room"?

This Viewpoint discusses the need to reframe the culture of heroic clinician narratives, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic, and suggests that the aim should be to achieve a culture of teamwork that acknowledges the physical and emotional needs of clinicians and does not expect them to...

Say no to fake news or confusing healthcare information that breeds fear and confusion.

It starts with trust and ends with us, not me. We all can do our little bit. It is not hard.

The right attitude will beat COVID-19 and a whole lot more preventable deaths and unnecessary suffering.
