Another fantastic Global Obstetric Update with the brilliant Mercy Perinatal team! Three full days of world-class virtual learning covering pre-term pre-eclampsia, calcium in pregnancy, postpartum haemorrhage, and so much more.

Loved being able to tune in from the GLOW boardroom *and* my couch at home—still catching babies, spending time with my family, and hearing from the leaders in our field sharing the latest research. If COVID gave us anything, it’s the gift of truly accessible virtual conferences!

💖 It’s in the Bag 💖

I packed my bag for ’s It’s in the Bag campaign — and it really made me stop and think.

No woman or girl should ever have to choose between buying food or buying pads. But for too many in our communities, that’s the reality. Period poverty and homelessness mean that something as simple as having a toothbrush, deodorant, or sanitary products can make an enormous difference to someone’s dignity and confidence.

We filled a bag with the essentials - and my daughter added a handwritten note to remind whoever receives it that they are loved, valued, and not forgotten. 💕

If you’d like to join in, bags can be dropped off at Bunnings stores Australia-wide from November 14 to 30.

It’s a small act of kindness, but one that can make a big difference this Christmas. ✨

I had the absolute pleasure of attending the Still Aware Gala Ball with the entire GLOW Specialists team. It was a fun and inspiring evening, all in support of a cause that means so much — raising awareness and funds to help prevent stillbirth. 💛

I’m so proud to be part of a team that shows up for something so important. Nights like this remind me why we do what we do.

As an obstetrician and fertility specialist, I’m often asked about the safety of medications during pregnancy — most recently paracetamol (acetaminophen) and its possible link to autism or ADHD in children.

There is currently no credible scientific evidence proving that appropriate use of paracetamol during pregnancy causes autism or ADHD. While some observational studies have suggested an association, these studies do not show a cause-and-effect relationship and are often limited by confounding factors.

Paracetamol, when used as directed, remains one of the safest pain relief options for pregnant women.

This is supported by major Australian medical bodies, including:

✅ RANZCOG (Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists)
✅ TGA (Therapeutic Goods Administration)
✅ AMA (Australian Medical Association)

All agree that there is no conclusive evidence linking paracetamol use in pregnancy with developmental conditions like autism or ADHD.

If you’re pregnant and unsure about which medications are safe, please speak to your healthcare provider. Your wellbeing — and your baby’s — is our top priority.
