Thank you to everyone who joined us on November 11th, for Remembrance Day.

Together, we paused to reflect, remember, and honour those who have served, and are currently serving.

We extend our deepest gratitude to Re-enact SA for providing the Catafalque Party, Scotch College Adelaide for their stirring Pipes and Drums, and the Walford Anglican School for Girls Choir for their beautiful and moving performance.

We are sincerely thankful for the presence of Cadets from the Australian Navy, Army, and Air Force, whose participation added great meaning to the occasion.

A heartfelt thank you to Robin Marlin for guiding us as MC, Lloyd Stevens for reading the Ode, and Military Chaplain Luke Skipper for offering prayer and reflection.

This service would not be possible without the generosity, time, and dedication of each of you. Your contribution helps create a space of remembrance and connection, and we are truly grateful.

They went with songs to the battle, they were young,
Straight of limb, true of eye, steady and aglow.
They were staunch to the end against odds uncounted;
They fell with their faces to the foe.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old;
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.

We had assistance today from Walford Anglican School for Girls in the placement of more than 4,500 Australian flags on the memorials in Derrick Gardens in the lead up to our Remembrance Day Service tomorrow.

Students worked together to ensure all memorials were honoured, whilst reflecting on the courage, resilience, and dedication of those who have served.

We welcome all to our Remembrance Day Service. The official procession and presentations will commence at 10.30am sharp at the Cross of Remembrance, Derrick Gardens.

Natural wreaths and tributes are welcome and there will be time allocated during the ceremony to lay at The Cross.

During the First World War, red poppies were among the first plants to spring up in the devastated battlefields of northern France and Belgium. The poppy soon became widely accepted throughout the allied nations as the flower of remembrance.

Our 'Poppies' sculpture features four poppies standing over and protecting their fallen comrade. This is a dedication to all service personnel, resting here in Derrick Gardens as well as the family and friends who visit.

We welcome all to our annual Remembrance Day Service commencing at 10.30am on 11 November. Join official attendees and ex and current service personnel in commemorating and remembering the brave people who served in war, conflict, or peacekeeping missions.
