It’s time to amplify trans voices, share stories, and take action for inclusion. 🏳️‍⚧️

Trans and gender diverse experiences are an integral part of Thorne Harbour Health’s story. We’re a community of communities — diverse in our identities but united in our vision for equality.

Trans rights are q***r rights, and it’s the business of all of us to advance these and show allyship.

Registrations are filling FAST to The Big Five-O, our panel discussion on Sun 16 Nov about the political context in which decriminalisation occurred and the role of feminist, anti-war, First Nations, and trade union activism in shaping that landscape.

One of our all-star panellists will be Karina Lester, a second-generation nuclear test survivor whose late father, Yami Lester, spent his life fighting for nuclear justice and was integral to the formation of the 1985 McClelland Royal Commission.

Karina, a senior Aboriginal language worker, continues this legacy in her role as International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons (ICA) Ambassador.

Powerful conversations with Minister Katrine Hildyard MP — Minister for Women, Children and the Prevention of Family & Domestic Violence.

We discussed the Royal Commission Report and the vital role of specialist family and domestic violence services in South Australia.

A huge thanks to the Minister for her genuine support and engagement with our Thorne Harbour Therapeutic Team.

Bloomin' Fabulous is back for a third year! Expect vibrant designs, bold botanical statements, and a celebration of q***r joy in full bloom!

This dazzling fashion runway event showcases works by local and interstate makers capturing how botany and the symbolism of flowers have long been intertwined with q***r histories, identities, and acts of defiance.

Developed in partnership with SAMESH, this year's Bloomin' Fabulous marks a significant milestone—50 years since the decriminalisation of homosexuality in South Australia, the first Australian state to take this step toward equality. Our theme for 2025 is ‘Flower Power’ – inspired by the global protest movements of the 1960s and 70s, where flowers became symbols of radical love.

Join us in the Garden’s spectacular Bicentennial Conservatory for a runway show featuring fabulous botanic-inspired costumes, explore the exhibition Wildlife Photographer of the Year for free, and mingle with the makers and models at our Living Museum after the runway. Ticket includes one free drink, nibbles, and goody bag. Frock up floral! Prizes awarded for ‘Best in Bicon'!

We're incredibly sad to learn of the passing of Eric Kuhlmann.

This legend in Adelaide's LGBTIQA+ communities will be missed dearly. As a proud bear, a performer, and a leader - Eric will be remembered as a sweet, kind, and gentle soul who shared his talents working with a number of community organisations - in particular Feast Festival & Pride Adelaide.

For anyone seeking support at this time, don't hesitate to contact QLife Australia (3pm to midnight, every day) or contact Thorne Harbour Health's Specialist Mental Health Support. To make an appointment, head to: https://thorneharbour.org/south-australia/mental-health-service/
