“It has transformed my life for the better…”

The man who shared this didn’t walk into a men’s group expecting some big breakthrough.
He just showed up - quietly, cautiously - because something in him knew he needed a change.

Week by week, conversation by conversation, he found it:
A place to talk about things men are rarely given space to say.
A place where honesty isn’t a risk - it’s welcomed.
A place where you are encouraged to be yourself… and grow from there.

That’s what happens in our weekly open men’s groups across Adelaide.
No judgement.
No pressure to “perform” or pretend you’re fine.
Just real men supporting each other through real life.

He’s not the only one who’s walked away feeling stronger, clearer, lighter…
He’s just one of many.

And maybe you could be next.

As the end of the year starts to speed up, it’s easy to lose yourself in the rush.
Work, family, deadlines, expectations... they all pull at your attention.

But here’s a reminder: you don’t have to carry it all alone.
Our open men’s groups are a space to pause, breathe, and connect with other men who get it.

No pressure. No fixing. Just real conversation.

Come as you are - that’s all that’s ever needed.

"I'm not perfect, but I'm having a crack"

For the men of Good Better Best Men, International Men’s Day isn’t about perfection - it’s about reflection.
It’s a moment to take stock of who we are, how we’re showing up in the world, and how we can keep doing better.

Because men’s work isn’t easy.
It means having the courage to face yourself - the good, the bad, the messy.
It means being honest about where you’re struggling.
And it means doing it together - with other men who are also having a crack.

This is what men’s work looks like.
This is what change sounds like.

Watch the video to hear what International Men’s Day - and men’s work - means to some of the men behind Good Better Best Men.

What actually happens in a men’s group? It’s a question we hear all the time... and fair enough.

A lot of blokes imagine therapy sessions, lectures, or someone trying to tell them how to live their life.
But that’s not what this is.

No, it’s not therapy.
No one’s here to fix you.
And no one’s keeping score.

You sit in a circle with other men.
You talk. You listen.
You realise you’re not the only one carrying it all.

If you’ve ever wanted a space to talk - REALLY talk - our free Open Men’s Groups run every week across Adelaide.
No cost. No pressure. Just good men doing the work together.

Last week in Brisbane, our Director and Elder, Michael Brennan, represented Good Better Best Men at the National Men’s Health Gathering - sharing how our grassroots work is helping men across South Australia reconnect, reflect, and grow.

Michael spoke about his own journey through struggle and growth - the experiences that shaped Good Better Best Men - and the importance of creating spaces where men can show up honestly and do the inner work.

He left the audience with two powerful invitations:
First, to honour and support the men who create and hold the spaces where men do the hard inner work. Encourage them. Stand beside them.
Second, to take a risk - just as these men do when they step into their own inner work. Advocate for them. Speak up. Fund the work.

Because creating better men takes courage, commitment, and community.

Michael summed it up beautifully:

“Communities without men committed to being their good, better, best man are communities dying.”

Meet Uncle Bonny.

For 35 years, he’s been walking the path of men’s work - and he says it’s been life-changing.

It’s given him the space to truly understand himself, to embrace every part of who he is, and to explore what it means to be a man in today’s world.

He’s learned courage.
Acceptance.
And how to flow with life, not fight it.

Through this work, he’s discovered that the softer parts of men aren’t weakness - they’re just another side of our strength.
Because being a man isn’t one-dimensional. It’s complex, powerful, and deeply human.

Now, decades on, he brings his wisdom, humour, and heart to the community, guiding other men to explore and embrace the same.

One of our catchphrases is "intergenerational menswork". I dont profess to know all the answers, I am guided by elders in our community who have walked the path, who have lived experience. It's through the sharing of this wisdom that I dont need to relive what they have already learned. It's with the guidance of elders in our community that I become a better man.

Celebrating these men who stepped into The Journey... and walked away changed.

They showed up ready to do the work - to be honest, open, and real.

Over three days, they shared stories, shed armour, and found something powerful in themselves and each other.

It’s hard to put into words what happens when men gather like this.
But if you were there, you know - it’s something real.

Men connecting. Men healing. Men growing into better versions of themselves.

To every man who said yes, and to the incredible team who made it all possible - thank you.

You created something unforgettable.
