Recovered from COVID-19? ✅There is no need to delay your first, second, or booster COVID-19 vaccination.

Once you have recovered from a COVID-19 infection and completed your isolation period, you can receive your first, second or booster dose (if you are eligible).

You should only delay your COVID-19 vaccination if you have not yet fully recovered from the acute illness associated with COVID-19.

As reinfection is possible, vaccination continues to be our best defence against serious illness and hospitalisation from COVID-19.

The Testing, Tracing, Isolation and Quarantining (TTIQ) model outlines testing and quarantine requirements for contacts of a COVID-19 case from 23 November.

This is a general guide and SA Health will advise you of your requirements following a risk based assessment.

With this new model, fewer people will be required to quarantine. It will also enable more people to quarantine for shorter periods of time.

Vaccinated close contacts will only be required to quarantine for seven days compared to unvaccinated close contacts who will be required to quarantine for 14 days.

COVID-19 vaccine booster doses are recommended to maintain immunity against the virus.

All people aged 18+ years who have had their second dose of a COVID-19 vaccine at least six months ago are eligible for a booster dose.

Where can I get my booster dose?
• Anyone can receive their booster dose at participating GPs, pharmacies, and Respiratory Clinics (online bookings open 8 November).
• SA Health staff from phase 1a can get their booster dose at SA Health vaccination clinics.
• From Wednesday 1 December, anyone due will be able to get their booster dose at SA Health vaccination clinics.

SA Health vaccination clinics will continue to focus on delivering first and second dose vaccines to the community.

Who does the phase 1a cohort include?
• medi-hotel and quarantine pathway workers
• frontline at-risk health care workers (including GP respiratory clinic staff and COVID-19 testing and processing facility staff)
• ambulance staff and paramedics
• ICU and emergency department staff (including students and volunteers)

People who are severely immunocompromised aged 12 and over can receive a third dose of a COVID-19 vaccine from their GP. For more information about eligible conditions, visit bit.ly/3GLLLsl

South Australia’s COVID-Ready Plan outlines the safe easing of restrictions and how COVID-19 will be managed in the state.

Our Plan is based on health advice and expert modelling commissioned by SA Health in partnership with SAHMRI, which is being undertaken by a team at The University of Adelaide – part of the broader Doherty network.

The modelling predicts the likelihood of an outbreak occurring, the size of the outbreak and how it will impact our health system.

Our Plan is based on the scenario with the lowest likelihood of an outbreak, manageable hospitalisations, and fewest deaths.

South Australia’s COVID-Ready Plan safely eases restrictions on borders and activities over the coming months and coordinates the health response to manage COVID-19 cases.

The COVID-Ready Plan is based on health advice to outline a measured and clear path out of the pandemic.

This will ensure COVID-19 can be controlled when it enters SA and prepares the state for living with COVID-19 in the longer term.

It is important to continue to get tested for COVID-19 as soon as possible if you have any symptoms, physical distance, wash your hands, and stay home if you are sick.

Vaccination is the best way to reduce your risk of becoming seriously unwell with COVID-19. Book now: www.sahealth.sa.gov.au/covidvaccine.
