⏰ Visual schedules and timers are a MUST have for all children, and something that we as adults use all day, everyday, likely without even realising! Calendars, alarms, and our watch all help us to predict and prepare for daily routines and changes.
Our children thrive from knowing what’s happening, when the end point is, and what’s happening next. Without the support of visuals and timers, children can become heightened, frustrated and overwhelmed! This is not only in therapy sessions, but in everyday routines and events.
Our Speech Pathologist, Tori, has taken some time to show the visuals and timers she finds helpful when working with children and supporting their engagement, participation and ability to predict what is coming next - speak with your Speech Pathologist today if you think your child could benefit from any routine based visuals, timers or other visual supports across their day to day environments. 💭
