Perimenopause doesn’t just affect hormones — it can change stress resilience too.

Many women believe resilience means doing more.
But often it improves when the nervous system feels supported — not overloaded.

That’s exactly what Lisa and I are focusing on in our February Health Reset workshop.

So many women believe they just need to try harder in midlife.

But hormonal shifts, stress load and nervous system pressure often overlap — and doing more isn’t always the solution.

That’s why I value working alongside Lisa.
We approach women’s health from different disciplines, but we’re seeing the same patterns.

The February Health Reset is happening Thursday Feb 19 at 7:30pm.

This isn’t about motivation.

Midlife changes how your body responds to stress, sleep, training and recovery.

If your body doesn’t respond the way it used to…
you’re not imagining it.

Perimenopause changes how we respond to stress, sleep, training and nutrition — and pushing harder often makes things worse.

The February Health Reset is a calm, practical online workshop designed to help women understand what’s actually changing — and where to focus instead.

A little Sunday update from the clinic ✨

From this coming week, Dr Jo Dee officially commences with us as an associate chiropractor. Many of you will recognise her from the reel we shared earlier this month, and we’re really looking forward to having her working alongside me to support your care.

We’re also loving our refreshed adjusting zone — designed to support smoother flow during our busier periods, while keeping the space calm, focused, and patient-centred.

Thank you for being part of our growing clinical team 🤍
We’re excited for this next chapter.

Other days, even small things feel overwhelming.

That doesn’t mean you’re failing.
It often means your nervous system is carrying more than it can recover from right now.

Resilience isn’t about avoiding stress —
it’s about how well your body can adapt and recover.

Sleep, breathing, strength, hydration, nutrition, and spinal support all play a role in how steady your system feels.

I’ve explained this more fully in this week’s blog + video. https://drpaula.link/stressfeels02beab

Sneaky getaway this weekend before the school year kicks off ✨
Even when I’m away from my usual routine, I still prioritise movement — especially with long car rides and plenty of sitting.

This is my joint-friendly AM strength sequence, focused on hip stability, core control and knee support (and very supportive for long days leaning over the adjusting table):

• Seated calf raises
• Kneeling Spanish squats
• Plank dumbbell rows
• Banded crab walk
• Banded plank alternating step-outs
• Banded donkey kicks
• Plank + thoracic rotation
• Dumbbell skier swings
• Banded squat to neutral press
• Lat pull-down
• Kneeling rows
• Banded hip thrusts
• Banded clam shells
• Dumbbell V-sits
• Roll it out

You don’t need a perfect workout.
You need consistent, supportive movement — especially when life shifts

20 Years of Providing Chiropractic Care for Patients from Nought to Ninety-Nine & Beyond…

Dr Paula established The Chiropractic Domain (then called: Stacey Chiropractic) in Goodwood and Mt Barker in the Adelaide Hills in July 1998. In 2008 the Mt Gambier location was offically opened.

A little about Dr Paula Stacey-Thomas “Welcome to The Chiropractic Domain Community and thank you for stopping by. I have had a strong passion to be a Chiropractor since I was 10 years of age. I still get joy and immense measure of pleasure from being part of a person’s healing journey. I love performing adjustments….20 years down the track I still think it is cool! I grew up in Goodwood, but never expected to own a business here. My Mount Gambier connection is through my husband who was born there. I commenced my chiropractic studies at the University of Adelaide and completed them at Macquarie University with a Masters in Chiropractic in 1996. I have been a practicing chiropractor since that time and in 1998, opened my own clinics in Mt Barker and Goodwood (formerly known as Stacey Chiropractic). I have since sold her Mt Barker practice and now run Goodwood and Mt Gambier clinics. I served for number of years on the Chiropractor’s Association of Australia (CAA), including a term as State President. In 2006 I was awarded National Chiropractor of the Year for my work as Program Manager National Healthy Spines Health promotion project www.healthyspines.com.au. I have also been a Telstra Business Awards finalist on three occasions. I always strive for ways to improve and extend the quality of service offered at the Chiropractic Domain, and keep up to date with technological advances within the chiropractic profession. I have special interest in caring for babies and children and my passion for Chiropractic care for children has only grown since starting a family of my own. When I’m not at one of the practices I am with my family that includes my daughter and identical twin sons as well as two adult step-children. We are a busy (at time chaotic house hold with a love of water sports, racquet sports and good food. I love when I get the chance to be near on or in the water, diving or swimming. In recently years I have developed a passion for cycling and motorbike.”
