**Is your posture stressing your brain? 😣
Many people feel tight by 3PM and assume it’s “just posture”… but your nervous system plays a huge role.

Forward-flexed, screen-heavy positions can actually signal “stress mode” to your brain — and reinforce the tension cycle.

I’ve written a short blog that explains this posture–neurology loop in a simple way.

Clinic Hours Update & Thank You

A gentle reminder that the clinic will be closed this Tuesday as I attend my father’s funeral. On Wednesday morning, our family will also be scattering the remainder of my late sister’s ashes.
The clinic will reopen Wednesday at 2pm, and Monday and Thursday hours remain unchanged.

Thank you for the kindness, care and condolences so many of you have extended. I’m grateful for strong family support and for a vocation I truly love — both are helping guide me through this time with meaning and purpose, even in the sadness.

Everyone affected has already been rescheduled. If anything urgent arises on Tuesday, my team will respond first thing Wednesday.

Thank you for your understanding and compassion.

The secret to my energy? It’s not luck—it’s strategy.

I lift. I fuel my body. I get adjusted regularly.

As a woman in midlife, these aren’t “extras”—they’re my foundation. They support my work, my health, and the way I show up for the people who count on me.

And if you’re feeling the shifts of peri-menopause and craving clarity, strength, and support… something special is coming in early February.

A brand-new workshop designed specifically for midlife women—your reset, your blueprint, your permission to feel powerful again.

Stay tuned. 💛

🌼 Tummy Time Workshop – Mt Barker (Recap) 🌼

A few weeks ago I had the privilege of running a Tummy Time Workshop in Mt Barker, sharing practical ways families can support their baby’s early motor development, confidence, and comfort during tummy time.

With simple demonstrations and lots of hands-on guidance, we explored how early movement experiences help shape a baby’s physical and neurological development — and how parents can make tummy time enjoyable at home.

✨ What we covered:

* Understanding normal infant motor milestones
* Making tummy time safe, supported, and fun
* Practical positioning ideas for home
* How to spot early signs of tension or asymmetry
* Why early screening & Chiropractic assessment can be valuable in supporting developing infants

As someone who has supported families in the perinatal space for almost 28 years, I love being able to share simple tools that build confidence and help babies thrive — but the workshop is always centred on your baby, your questions, and what feels right for your family.

It’s with great sadness that I share some very personal news.
Yesterday afternoon, my beloved Dad passed peacefully from this world after a month of illness and complications. We believe his beautiful spirit is now reunited with my dear sister, Carla.

My mum, Errolyn, and I were with him, supported by my sisters Mary-Anne and Kathleen, who lovingly took turns to be by his side in his final days.

Dad was not a saint, but he was simply the best man I’ve ever known — a devoted husband, father, grandfather, teacher, counsellor, and friend. For 65 years, he and Mum shared an extraordinary partnership filled with love, humour, faith, and strength.

He so nearly made it to his 90th birthday, which was his goal. Though his body let him down, his spirit, kindness, and humility never did.

Many of you may not know that The Chiropractic Domain exists because of my dad’s faith in me. In 1998, after I’d lost confidence following a difficult work experience, he quietly dipped into his retirement savings to give me my first business loan — the start of what would become this clinic. His belief, support, and generosity helped build something that has since touched many lives.

Some of you will also remember him as our “clinic handyman.” For years, he supported The Chiropractic Domain behind the scenes — reupholstering tables, fixing furniture, and crafting with skill and care. His humour and kindness filled our space, and his handiwork remains a quiet reminder of his presence.

We’ll share details soon about his funeral and celebration of life, which we plan to hold on what would have been his 90th birthday.
As a mark of respect, the clinic will be closed on the day of the funeral (date to be advised).

Thank you all for your compassion, understanding, and continued kindness during this time.

With heartfelt gratitude,
Paula

20 Years of Providing Chiropractic Care for Patients from Nought to Ninety-Nine & Beyond…

Dr Paula established The Chiropractic Domain (then called: Stacey Chiropractic) in Goodwood and Mt Barker in the Adelaide Hills in July 1998. In 2008 the Mt Gambier location was offically opened.

A little about Dr Paula Stacey-Thomas “Welcome to The Chiropractic Domain Community and thank you for stopping by. I have had a strong passion to be a Chiropractor since I was 10 years of age. I still get joy and immense measure of pleasure from being part of a person’s healing journey. I love performing adjustments….20 years down the track I still think it is cool! I grew up in Goodwood, but never expected to own a business here. My Mount Gambier connection is through my husband who was born there. I commenced my chiropractic studies at the University of Adelaide and completed them at Macquarie University with a Masters in Chiropractic in 1996. I have been a practicing chiropractor since that time and in 1998, opened my own clinics in Mt Barker and Goodwood (formerly known as Stacey Chiropractic). I have since sold her Mt Barker practice and now run Goodwood and Mt Gambier clinics. I served for number of years on the Chiropractor’s Association of Australia (CAA), including a term as State President. In 2006 I was awarded National Chiropractor of the Year for my work as Program Manager National Healthy Spines Health promotion project www.healthyspines.com.au. I have also been a Telstra Business Awards finalist on three occasions. I always strive for ways to improve and extend the quality of service offered at the Chiropractic Domain, and keep up to date with technological advances within the chiropractic profession. I have special interest in caring for babies and children and my passion for Chiropractic care for children has only grown since starting a family of my own. When I’m not at one of the practices I am with my family that includes my daughter and identical twin sons as well as two adult step-children. We are a busy (at time chaotic house hold with a love of water sports, racquet sports and good food. I love when I get the chance to be near on or in the water, diving or swimming. In recently years I have developed a passion for cycling and motorbike.”
