Parents of young athletes 👇

As we head into footy, netball, soccer, basketball and hockey season…
there’s something important that often gets missed.

It’s not just the initial hit that matters.

It’s what happens after —
when balance, coordination and reaction time may not be quite right.

Some parents aren’t sure how seriously to take it.
Others feel like they need to rush straight to a specialist.

Most are just looking for clear, practical guidance.

That’s exactly why we’re running a small:

Does your neck feel okay in the morning… but tight by the afternoon?
Many people notice this pattern.
During the day our neck and upper back are under constant load from phones, computers, driving and everyday activities.
If certain joints in the neck aren’t moving well, the surrounding muscles often work harder to stabilise the area.
As the day goes on those muscles fatigue — and that’s when people begin to feel stiffness or tension.
In this short video I explain why this happens.

🐰 Easter fun at The Chiropractic Domain!

We had a couple of little “bunnies” hopping around the clinic today… keeping things light while we take care of your spines 😉

Our practice is now closed for the Easter break, and we’ll be back on Tuesday from 1:00pm.

→ If you’re taking a break, we hope you enjoy some well-earned rest and time with loved ones
→ If you’re working, thank you for everything you do—we appreciate you 👏

Stay safe, move well, and we’ll see you next week!

Ever had your back go “out”… just picking something up?

It feels sudden. Random. Frustrating.

But most of the time, it’s not actually the beginning of the problem —
it’s the moment your body finally says, “that’s enough.”

→ Stiff joints that haven’t been moving well
→ Small changes building up over time
→ Compensation patterns you didn’t even realise were there

Then one simple movement becomes the tipping point.

In this video, I walk you through why this happens — and why it can keep happening if nothing changes.

Because understanding the why is the first step toward changing the pattern.

If this has happened to you before, I’d love to know —
what were you doing when it happened? 👇

Today I had the absolute privilege of attending Dr Jo Dee’s formal graduation ceremony, and I could not be prouder.

Jo Dee’s journey into chiropractic didn’t begin five years ago — it actually started a decade ago on her home Sunshine Coast in Queensland, where she worked as a Chiropractic Assistant and Practice Manager. It was during that time she felt called to become a chiropractor herself.

That decision meant moving her life to Adelaide to study, and after five years of dedication and perseverance, she has now officially graduated.

Watching her walk across the stage brought back memories of my own journey — and yes, there were a few proud tears.

To make the day even more special, Jo Dee was chosen by her peers to deliver the final speech on behalf of her graduating year — a true reflection of the respect she has earned.

Many of you will already know Jo Dee from her four years with us in the clinic in an admin role. Now, as Dr Jo Dee, she is stepping into caring for you in a new way — alongside our team approach to your care.

We are so proud to have her as part of our clinic family, and we know you’ll join us in celebrating this incredible milestone.

Congratulations, Dr Jo Dee.

Ever had your back “go out” bending over?
Often that moment is simply the final straw, not the beginning of the problem.

20 Years of Providing Chiropractic Care for Patients from Nought to Ninety-Nine & Beyond…

Dr Paula established The Chiropractic Domain (then called: Stacey Chiropractic) in Goodwood and Mt Barker in the Adelaide Hills in July 1998. In 2008 the Mt Gambier location was offically opened.

A little about Dr Paula Stacey-Thomas “Welcome to The Chiropractic Domain Community and thank you for stopping by. I have had a strong passion to be a Chiropractor since I was 10 years of age. I still get joy and immense measure of pleasure from being part of a person’s healing journey. I love performing adjustments….20 years down the track I still think it is cool! I grew up in Goodwood, but never expected to own a business here. My Mount Gambier connection is through my husband who was born there. I commenced my chiropractic studies at the University of Adelaide and completed them at Macquarie University with a Masters in Chiropractic in 1996. I have been a practicing chiropractor since that time and in 1998, opened my own clinics in Mt Barker and Goodwood (formerly known as Stacey Chiropractic). I have since sold her Mt Barker practice and now run Goodwood and Mt Gambier clinics. I served for number of years on the Chiropractor’s Association of Australia (CAA), including a term as State President. In 2006 I was awarded National Chiropractor of the Year for my work as Program Manager National Healthy Spines Health promotion project www.healthyspines.com.au. I have also been a Telstra Business Awards finalist on three occasions. I always strive for ways to improve and extend the quality of service offered at the Chiropractic Domain, and keep up to date with technological advances within the chiropractic profession. I have special interest in caring for babies and children and my passion for Chiropractic care for children has only grown since starting a family of my own. When I’m not at one of the practices I am with my family that includes my daughter and identical twin sons as well as two adult step-children. We are a busy (at time chaotic house hold with a love of water sports, racquet sports and good food. I love when I get the chance to be near on or in the water, diving or swimming. In recently years I have developed a passion for cycling and motorbike.”
