Many women notice changes in strength, recovery, sleep, and energy during perimenopause and menopause.
These changes aren’t failure — they’re physiology.

As we move into the New Year, we’ll be sharing more education around movement, recovery, and longevity for midlife women

A little holiday improvisation session ⛱️
Minimal equipment, short on time, but keen to stay engaged, mobile, and switched on.

This was a simple 20-minute backyard workout, cycling through the circuit 3 times using:
→ one kettlebell
→ a couple of light weights
→ bands
→ and a bit of creativity

Nothing fancy. Just hinge, push, pull, rotate, carry and a few heart-rate raisers to keep everything ticking over while on leave.

Not about smashing PBs — just keeping the body moving, the joints happy, and the nervous system awake… so holidays don’t turn into a full stop.

Throwback Thursday ❤️

From her very first gentle chiropractic check as a newborn, to standing beside me at the clinic at 18.
With chiropractic always part of her world, it’s no surprise she’s taken an interest in the behind-the-scenes running of our family practice — helping out on Monday afternoons and gaining some office and customer service experience as she steps into life after school.

A proud mum moment, and a reminder to our long-term patients just how quickly time flies ✨

Christmas stress isn’t a mindset issue — it’s a nervous system load issue.
If you’re feeling more reactive, tired, or overwhelmed right now, your body may simply be adapting to more than usual.
In this short video, I explain a simple concept called HRV — and how it helps us understand stress resilience without needing tech or trackers.
Small insights can make this season feel a lot lighter.

“Resilience isn’t built by pushing harder — it’s built by knowing when to recover.”

This artwork has lived in my clinic for years, and it feels especially relevant right now.

With just 7 adjusting days left until our end-of-year break, December can feel like a full sprint. But resilience isn’t built by constant drive alone.

Like yin and yang, the nervous system needs balance — activation and recovery. True resilience comes from supporting the body and brain to reset, regenerate, and adapt, not just push through.

That balance is exactly what chiropractic adjustments aim to support: helping the nervous system shift out of constant drive so it can recover well and return stronger.

As we move toward the end of the year, this is your reminder — resilience isn’t about doing more.
It’s about allowing recovery to do its work.

20 Years of Providing Chiropractic Care for Patients from Nought to Ninety-Nine & Beyond…

Dr Paula established The Chiropractic Domain (then called: Stacey Chiropractic) in Goodwood and Mt Barker in the Adelaide Hills in July 1998. In 2008 the Mt Gambier location was offically opened.

A little about Dr Paula Stacey-Thomas “Welcome to The Chiropractic Domain Community and thank you for stopping by. I have had a strong passion to be a Chiropractor since I was 10 years of age. I still get joy and immense measure of pleasure from being part of a person’s healing journey. I love performing adjustments….20 years down the track I still think it is cool! I grew up in Goodwood, but never expected to own a business here. My Mount Gambier connection is through my husband who was born there. I commenced my chiropractic studies at the University of Adelaide and completed them at Macquarie University with a Masters in Chiropractic in 1996. I have been a practicing chiropractor since that time and in 1998, opened my own clinics in Mt Barker and Goodwood (formerly known as Stacey Chiropractic). I have since sold her Mt Barker practice and now run Goodwood and Mt Gambier clinics. I served for number of years on the Chiropractor’s Association of Australia (CAA), including a term as State President. In 2006 I was awarded National Chiropractor of the Year for my work as Program Manager National Healthy Spines Health promotion project www.healthyspines.com.au. I have also been a Telstra Business Awards finalist on three occasions. I always strive for ways to improve and extend the quality of service offered at the Chiropractic Domain, and keep up to date with technological advances within the chiropractic profession. I have special interest in caring for babies and children and my passion for Chiropractic care for children has only grown since starting a family of my own. When I’m not at one of the practices I am with my family that includes my daughter and identical twin sons as well as two adult step-children. We are a busy (at time chaotic house hold with a love of water sports, racquet sports and good food. I love when I get the chance to be near on or in the water, diving or swimming. In recently years I have developed a passion for cycling and motorbike.”
