We are about to start giving out our Christmas Hampers and Christmas Presents, thanks to the Volunteers who assisted on Monday in picking out the Hamper.
Drakes Supermarket at North Haven will be making up another 16 Christmas Hampers for us and boxing them into lots of 4 to make it easy to carry on ship.
The Photo above is what each ship will receive (presents are separate gift).
The presents are from Henley Beach Chapter of St. Vincent de Paul Society and we thank them on behalf of the Seafarers they are much appreciated.
The Australian Mariners Pilots Association are to be congratulated on their wonderful donation to StellaMaris - Port Adelaide.
Our own Stella Maris Head Office are also to be congratulated for their contribution and assistance.
Our Lady of the Visitation Primary School made up 31 Individual packs for Seafarers and these have already been distributed. Well done to the School and Staff.
We know the Seafarers will know "They are not alone," being a long way from home and family.
We also have enough individual Christmas Presents for 2 ships and the first recipient of the presents will be the Grain Ship QC Isabella and that ship is presently at Inner Harbor 27, and on Wednesday will be transferring to Outer Harbor 8, then it is off to Penang. This ship has an all Filipino crew. They will get their presents this Thursday.
The remaining 16 Hampers will be ready by Thursday. If any Flinders Ports, Australian Border Force, AMSA, Marine Pilots and MUA staff feel that there is a ship which could do with a hamper, please let me know
We will try to get to as many ships as possible and naturally we will comply with all Flinders Ports Safety Instructions when delivering to the ships.
The Australian Border Force have been shown what we will be taking on board the ships. We thank them for their Cooperation on this project.
