Welcoming Sami 🎶

We’re delighted to welcome Sami Timcke to the Creative Therapy Adelaide team!

Sami is a Registered Music Therapist with a Master of Music Therapy from the University of Melbourne and a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Performance (Voice) from the Elder Conservatorium. She brings rich experience across the lifespan from supporting infants and young children to working with older adults in mental health settings.

Sami is passionate about building connections with participants and families, and creating meaningful therapeutic moments through music. Her sessions take a strengths-based, person-centred approach, fostering self-expression, confidence and wellbeing.

While vocals are her primary instrument, Sami also plays guitar, piano and ukulele!

Annual Training Day is next week!

Our team will be away on Monday, 20 January, for our annual training day!

This is a chance for our team to come together for professional development, planning, and some special team activities that help us continue providing high-quality support.

Our phone lines and emails will still be monitored, but responses may be delayed. Thank you for your understanding, we’ll be back the following day, refreshed and ready to go! 💙

2026 is here, and here’s what we’re looking forward to so far:

- Welcoming back our wonderful community of participants, their representatives and support networks
- Launching our Flying Start Programs and beginning meaningful collaborations with preschools across Adelaide to support them through music and speech.
- Welcoming new team members who will bring fresh energy, skills and perspectives to our work.
- Coming together for our annual training in the next few weeks: a time for team connection, reflective practice, professional development and a few special activities.
- Experiencing another year of progress, learning and growth as we continue to evolve into the best version of ourselves as a team and as a service provider.

Music isn’t an add-on at Creative Therapy Adelaide, it’s at the heart of everything we do.

Our approach uses music as a therapeutic tool to support attention, communication, movement, regulation and engagement across all our services, not just in music therapy sessions.

This year, we’ll keep sharing the practical ways we use music every day to lift outcomes and create meaningful moments for the people we support.

🎤 Creative Showcase – January 2026

We’re excited to invite our participants to this year’s Creative Showcase, a special event celebrating growth, confidence and creativity.

The Creative Showcase gives young people the opportunity to present the skills they’ve developed throughout the year.

Whether it’s performing a song, sharing a creative project or presenting a communication skill they’ve been practicing, this event is a wonderful way for young people to build confidence, connect with peers and celebrate their therapy journey.
