Sometimes feeling like you’re drowning is that silent but deafening liminal space right before you feel like your next breath could be your last.
You go to lay down one last time, tired, calm at peace.
You no longer feel heavy- you realise the weight has lifted but not from your chest, but from all the people, places and moments that wanted to hold you down and watch you drown, from those who pushed you in, tore your clothes off and took away your life jacket.
As they showed their teeth, they ripped with claws and snarled with low growling that echoed through your body. You stretched your arms wide, you didn’t fight, not out of weakness but from surrender…..
You whisper to yourself “let them, let them, let them”
what they didn’t realise is that you have been in this place before, you have been shown hell many times in this life times and where most see fear and darkness in this place- those who have been here before and know the feeling well that this next breath could be their last….. those are the ones who are silently waiting, waiting to resurface …. Because each time they do - that first breath after their last…. Is their rebirth - the know the right people will be there waiting to walk the next path beside them. And they will be stronger than before
