Milestone unlocked 🔓 South Australia’s new $200 million Deep Maintenance and Modification Facility (DMMF) is nearly complete 👏

Construction on the multi‑hangar aircraft facility at RAAF Base Edinburgh will wrap up early next month, well ahead of schedule ✈️

The purpose-built facility is a vital addition to the state’s network of critical defence infrastructure, supporting the Royal Australian Air Force and Boeing Defence Australia to undertake repair, overhaul and upgrade activities on advanced military aircraft on home soil, while also serving as a regional hub for allied aircraft sustainment.

Defence SA is proud to have played a lead role in advocating for the importance of the DMMF and positioning South Australia as the preferred location for this significant capability.

Multi-billion dollar investment gears South Australia up for a new era of submarine construction 🛠️

The Australian Government has pledged $3.9 billion to deliver the new Submarine Construction Yard in Osborne.

With a projected $30 billion investment over coming decades, this once in a generation build will create thousands of jobs, grow our sovereign capability and reinforce the as the nation’s home of the SSN-AUKUS conventionally armed, nuclear-powered submarine fleet.

🚢 Lockheed Martin Australia was awarded another nine-month extension of its Aegis Sustainment Program for the Hobart class guided missile destroyers.

Under the new agreement, new supply-support roles will be created as Osborne Naval Shipyard and the sustainment team will expand its footprint in Adelaide to provide additional technical and logistics support.
