Today, we honored Leah, a valued member of our lifestyle team at The Villa. After 18 years with Saint Hilarion, where she began as a Personal Care Worker, her genuine passion for life and dedication to our residents will be deeply missed. We wish Leah all the best in her retirement!

The residents of Villa Saint Hilarion had a wonderful time celebrating this year's Melbourne Cup Day. They enjoyed a delicious BBQ, refreshing spritzes, and, of course, watching the race. It was a fantastic day for everyone involved.

Recently, the Year 3 girls from Walford Anglican School visited our residents at House of Saint Hilarion. They had a fantastic time making muffins with our volunteer Flavia, who is the grandmother of Valentina, our youngest volunteer baker! The girls also painted mini flower pots, so when they return, they can plant flowers for our residents to enjoy.

The girls' joy and enthusiasm were truly infectious, especially during their tour of the kitchen and facility. They asked plenty of questions, and both our residents and staff were impressed by their polite and friendly demeanor. These visits are vital for keeping our youth connected with the community and for supporting our mission to help our older generation thrive.

Our very own Patrizia Kadis, Homecare and Community Engagement Manager at the Society of Saint Hilarion Aged Care, has been recognised with the Com.It.Es Progetto Donna Award for Courage, Change, and Social Justice.

This prestigious award celebrates women who exemplify strength, compassion, and leadership in serving their communities—and there could be no more deserving recipient than Patrizia.

Through her dedication to the ageing Italian community in South Australia, Patrizia has consistently demonstrated what it means to serve with heart. Her energy, compassion, and tireless advocacy have touched the lives of countless elderly clients and their families. Patrizia’s work not only ensures that our older Italians receive quality care and meaningful social connection, but also helps preserve the dignity, culture, and wellbeing of those who helped shape our community.

Patrizia’s ability to blend empathy with innovation—always seeking new ways to improve the lives of the elderly—makes her an inspiring role model to us all. Our community client, Rosa, reflects on her enjoyable experiences attending the Tempo Mio programs, she visited Cathy from Radio Italia Uno. Rosa participates weekly in our Seaton Tempo Mio program, where she not only savors delicious lunches but also engages in vibrant conversations with her friends. We were thrilled to host the Mayor of Coulonia during his visit to our Seaton and Fulham facilities. It was a wonderful opportunity for him to meet and greet our amazing residents, dedicated. Your warm welcomes truly made a difference!

As we celebrated our rich Italian heritage, the highlight of the day was the Mayor joining our residents in a lively dance to the Tarantella! It was a joyous moment that showcased the spirit of our culture and the connections we share.

Sister Dora and our residents had a wonderful time in the sunshine during our weekly garden group! Together, they nurtured our beautiful garden, planting seeds of joy and love. The tomatoes and spinach are flourishing!
