What is your last memory ?

Too often I hear the last memory of seeing a loved one, is one no-one would choose. A morgue or a hospital bed, stripped of all belongings in a body bag.

Today we honour our Fathers

The men that carried us on their backs
Who sacrificed for our greater good
Worked tirelessly to provide
Lead our families to prosperous lives
Wanting to achieve more than their forefathers ❤️

We watch them disappear before our eyes
Unable to provide no more
Losing the ability to make decisions
Frustrated at the loss … of self
Feeling helpless

Let’s honour our father’s and give them a voice

So why Death Doula ????

For as long as I can remember death has intrigued me. There is a certain truth that is present in these final moments. It’s raw and it’s real.

Working in the health industry, I know death can be done better.

Removing fear and exploring death with a whole new mindset is what I’m trying to achieve.

The services we provide but not limited to….

· Allowing the dying person and those close to them to speak openly and frankly about dying

· Offering the dying person an opportunity to explore the meaning of their life and their impact on others

· Bringing a focused and intuitive presence to the bedside that encourages a deeper engagement for all involved

· Preparing for the last days by creating a plan for how the dying space looks and feels; the music or sounds; readings and rituals, and so much more

· Offering and modeling how to touch the dying person

· Assisting with physical and practical care to ease the burden on caregivers

· Explaining the signs and symptoms of the dying process as they occur

· Processing the emotions and experiences with family after the person has died and guiding them in their early grief
