I’d planned a gentle rest week.
Slowing down. Switching off. Being kind to myself.
Then I rolled my ankle… thanks to Ludo. 🐶😅
So rest took on a whole new meaning.
Less moving. More sofa. More cuddles.
And yes — he’s absolutely benefited from it.
It’s given me a different perspective on slowing down.
Sometimes you don’t get the version you planned… you get the one you need.
If you’re choosing self-kindness this week too, put a 💛 in the comments.

Having a go at another article......

In this article, I reflect on what it was really like trying to be my “old self” after moving to Australia; staying busy, capable, and positive while quietly navigating loneliness, self-doubt, and exhaustion. I share how starting again in a new country taught me that growth doesn’t come from pushing harder, but from slowing down, listening to myself, and learning to work with my ADHD rather than against it. Through building community, experimenting with boundaries, celebrating small wins, and choosing curiosity over pressure, I began to move from survival mode into a more honest, grounded way of living. My message is simple and hopeful: you can start again at any age, change doesn’t mean failure, and you don’t have to be your old self to build a meaningful new life. 💛 mean failure, and you don’t have to be your old self to build a meaningful new life. 💛

Hey lovely humans.

I’m jumping in on this little challenge my friend Dawn Taylor - DLT Visions posted about recently!

Showing up, telling a story and being honest and human.

I gave a Toastmasters speech, got amazing feedback… and still felt empty afterwards.

Instead of brushing it off, I sat with it and
Reflected.

Listened to what was really going on.
And that’s what this little three-minute video is about — being human, not perfect, and learning to actually take in the good stuff.

This is me practising visibility.
Messy. Real. Learning

What’s something you’ve been reflecting on lately?”

Overwhelm isn’t weakness.
It’s information.

I shared a very honest piece about ADHD, slowing down, and learning to live more gently on LinkedIn today 💛

If you’re tired of pushing through, it might resonate.

Coming Back to Myself....

Hello, lovely human, I’ve been sitting with this for a while, and it feels like the right moment to start sharing a little more intentionally. When I moved to Australia, I knew I wanted to grow my coaching business here, but I also knew I couldn’t rush it.

The other day I met up with my friend Molly for a coffee ☕
A really welcome break from working from home — and one of those catch-ups that fills your cup in ways you don’t quite expect.

Molly’s a fellow life coach and a neurodivergent woman in business, and we ended up having one of those easy, honest conversations about what we’re building, how we want our businesses to grow over the next few years, and — more importantly — how we actually want to serve as coaches.

No pitching.

No pretending.

Just curiosity, reflection, and a lot of shared understanding.

It reminded me how important it is to step away from the screen sometimes and sit across from someone who understands both the business side and the human side of this work. Someone who gets the thinking, the energy, the doubts, and the excitement that come with building something meaningful.

I’m really excited about the development of friendships like this — the kind that sit somewhere between personal and professional, where you lift each other up, share ideas, and grow alongside one another.

Definitely doing it again. Definitely looking forward to where these conversations (and friendships) go 💛

Hi, I’m Helz.
What you see in this Reel is how I live — slow mornings, gentle movement, and choosing calm over chaos.
It’s also exactly how Yellow Hat Coaching works.
I support people who feel overwhelmed to feel capable again, using small steps that actually fit real life.
If things feel like a lot right now, you don’t have to do it alone 💛
What’s one small thing that helps you feel grounded?

My word of the year is PLAY. Here’s why 👇

For years, I treated life like a to-do list.
Goals. Growth. Healing. Productivity.
Important things… but heavy when they’re the only way you move through the world.

This year, I’m choosing play.

Because play is:

how curiosity comes back

how creativity wakes up

how healing feels lighter

how progress stops feeling like pressure

Play doesn’t mean chaos or not caring.
It means trying without attachment, moving without punishment, resting without guilt, and laughing without needing permission.

Play is letting things be a bit messy.
Play is doing it anyway.
Play is trusting that joy is productive too.

So this year I’m asking myself one simple question before I say yes:

👉 Does this feel playful, or does it feel punishing?

If it’s playful — I’m in.
If it’s punishing — it gets redesigned.

Here’s to a year of experimenting, softness, laughter, and lighter steps forward.

💛 What’s your word for the year — and what do you want more of?

Letting go of what no longer fits — and choosing ease instead.
What are you releasing this year? 💛

Adelaide summer solstice
A beautiful sky, a moment of stillness,
and sharing it with a genuinely awesome human
(10/10 company, would keep).

Ending ’25 quietly.
Letting the weird bits stay weird.
Appreciating the beauty without asking it to make sense.

Turns out you don’t need clarity to enjoy a moment —
you just need to notice it.

What’s one thing you’re choosing to not overthink as the year wraps up?

Thank you 🙏

30 days of happiness: posting a picture every day of something that makes me happy, in no particular order...Each day I'll nominate another business - I'm not necessarily expecting them to take part but it'll always be someone I recommended!

Day 6: friends and family can usually be relied upon for making me feel happy with the world. These crazy ladies and I met at college in 1998 (nearly 30 years ago! 😱) and can always be relied on for good times.
