Keeping us all safe! As a mobile service, it is more important than ever before that I keep up to date with the regulations and recommendations to prevent the spread of infectious disease. PPE, regular cleaning and sanitising of resources, and individual resources for each client are just some of the ways I am working to keep you, your families and my family safe.

The Zone of Proximal Development is the area of learning where the skills are too difficult for an individual to master on their own, but that can be done with guidance and encouragement from others.
It’s important that we meet people where they are at. We can then allow them to find success in the areas they can achieve in and feel confident and supported to attempt more challenging tasks within their Zone of Proximal Development in order to learn new skills. It’s also important that we don’t attempt to start with highly challenging tasks that are beyond their current abilities as this can lead to frustration, reduced confidence, reduced motivation and it takes the fun out of learning.

Today is International Day of People with Disability. IDPwD is a United Nations observed day celebrated internationally. It aims to increase public awareness, understanding and acceptance of people with disability and celebrate their achievements and contributions.

IDPwD is an opportunity for us to make positive changes to the lives of the 4.4 million Australians with disability. It’s important to remember that not all disabilities are visible.
