I switched out the keys in high school, deciding that it was no longer ‘cool’ and I got my first electric guitar at 16. I was obsessed. I had dreams of becoming a rockstar and spent my evenings tucked away in my bedroom listening to Guns n Roses and Motley Crue CDs on repeat. I studied music at high school, joined the school band and sat (extremely nervously may I add) for my music exams.
Creating and playing music supported me through the highs and very extreme lows. When I lost a dear friend at such a young age- music was my comfort blanket, my way of processing the unfathomable. It created a safe space for me to feel and move through my emotions.
And although the rockstar dream has changed course, one thing remains true to my heart. The importance of having a safe space to feel, to connect inwards with myself and my emotions.
And this is why we created Clear Colours.
To be that container, that sacred space for ourselves and others. Holding space to soften, to let go and simply just be with yourself fully, however that looks on that given day.
Because, my golly, it’s been a savior for me.
