✨ I don’t know how they do it, but these steps just relax me as soon as I see them 🧘🏻‍♀️

Tonight I took some time to slow down and do a beautiful yin yoga/restore session at .brighton.sa and it was absolutely incredible!
I try to practice yoga as much as I can lately with life being so hectic but I generally go in with a fitness based mindset rather than a restorative or mindful focus. It was lovely to spend some time reflecting inwards and slowing down on a Sunday ready for the week ahead.

My focus for 2024 is more mindful practices and a focus on holistic wellbeing for health ✨

Let's talk journalling!

Did you know that taking time each day to write in a journal has proven health benefits? Not only does it help you reflect on the day, your emotions, and your behaviours, but it also provides us an opportunity for positive self-talk and gratitude. It can increase mental health, improve memory and academic performance, it can help you be more successful at work, improve relationships and emotional intelligence, and boost self-confidence! It takes practice to be able to clear your mind and put it into words on paper, but it can create so much freedom and peace. Your mind deserves to be cleared of the things that are weighing it down, externalise the internal worries, thoughts, feelings, and you will find clarity. Journalling is such a great habit for your wellbeing and a wonderful form of meditation, so I challenge you to do it for one week and see if you feel the difference.

“I write entirely to find out what I’m thinking, what I’m looking at, what I see, and what it means. What I want and what I fear.” Joan Didion

Sunday can bring stress on for many people. For some going back to work on Monday can be stressful and for others the start of the school holidays can be anxiety ridden. We need to be mindful that what consumes our mind controls our life, if our minds are stressed so too will our lives be. A positive mindset can bring strength, energy and motivation to take on the week. Whatever your Monday brings, take a breath and remember we have the ability to choose our thoughts, make some of them positive ones!

Happy Sunday! ✌🏻🌸

Ah Eckhart Tolle, one of the greatest motivators and teachers! Accepting the present as opposed to fighting against it is a hard skill to master, but once you change your mindset and your ability to be at peace with the world, it is well worth it 🌸✌🏻

It's not what others think of you that determines whether or not you succeed, it’s what you think of yourself. All the hard work in the world cannot overcome self doubt, you need to relinquish those self limiting beliefs and realise your potential. Let’s go into Monday knowing we have have the ability to succeed, the mindset to chase our goals and the voice to disagree with our internal self doubts.

My beautiful friend gifted me these stunning flowers for a very special occasion this week and not only are they a perfect way to brighten up eveyones Facebook feed, they also got me thinking! I am so grateful for the positive relationships I have fostered over recent years. I can honestly say that those I have built relationships with have had a massive impact on my personal wellbeing and have contributed to my personal growth and flourishing.

Positive relationships is a multifaceted concept when it comes to wellbeing but in short, other people matter! Human connection is high up on the hierarchy of needs and if we don’t build those positive relationships, or we spend too much time fostering negative ones, we are actively limiting our overall wellbeing. We need to be mindful of the impact others have on us and vice versa. This includes friends, family, work colleagues, partners, and children. Everyone matters when it comes to our wellbeing.

Before we head into a new week, here are some little reminders for you Sunday 🌸

REFLECT - take a moment to look back at the weekend and feel the emotions from those memories. It may have gone too quickly for us to truly appreciate what we did and felt at the time. As the weeekend draws to a close it’s an opportunity to breathe in all that happened.

PLAN - it’s so important to plan our week ahead. Planning is a commitment to ourselves that we will do what we are hoping to during the week. Plan your meals, exercise, study, family time, sports and other activities. Planning, especially writing out your plans, increase the chances we will stick to these plans allowing us to be more successful and less stressed.

GRATITUDE - spend a quiet moment being grateful for a few things that happened over the weekend. Spending time with family, having time to yourself, the wonderful meal or glass of wine we got to have, being able to snooze your alarm or even better, not set one! Gratitude allows us to focus more on the positives than dwelling on the negatives. It creates a highlight reel in our minds that encourages us to remember the good times when the bad ones inevitably make their appearance.

Manifest those good vibes as our Monday comes around ✌🏻
