With nearly 140 years of history working with people who are blind or vision impaired, their Dogs Program naturally started with Guide Dogs and over time they have expanded to offer a range of programs.

At ParkView Day Surgery, Laser Vision Correction is performed in a dedicated refractive theatre environment, which has a complete suite of laser vision correction technology including SMILE® Pro, LASIK and PRK.

✨ Over 25 Years of working in Vision ✨

For over 25 years, ParkView Day Surgery has been helping South Australians with their vision.

In February 1992, Dr. Peter Ingham, our current Medical Director, was the first in South Australia to introduce laser vision correction surgery (also called refractive surgery) to South Australia at the Ashford Community Hospital campus. Due to high demand, the Centre quickly outgrew this initial space and in 1996 moved to the Anzac Highway based campus of Ashford and was established as the Ashford Eye and Laser Centre.

The continued growth and success of the business saw it move again in 1999 to its current location, a purpose-built facility at 215 Greenhill Road, Eastwood. At that time, it was re-named Adelaide Eye & Laser Centre (AE&LC).

In 2019 the hospital assets of AE&LC were purchased by Eastwood Laser and Eye Centre (ELEC), a joint venue between Dr. Peter Ingham and Forbes Street Medical Investments and re-branded to ParkView Day Surgery.

It is a purpose-built surgical ophthalmic facility with full accreditation. It was the first accredited facility of its kind in South Australia and continues to offer patients options in eye surgery.

ParkView Day Surgery enjoys a priority affiliation with Adelaide Eye & Laser Centre which is located on Level 1 in the same building and in which many of its visiting ophthalmologists are based.
