Our mission is simple and our focus is always on you.

We empower GPs to advocate for a healthier Australia by improving access to essential services, advocating for streamlined national initiatives like cancer screening registers, and ensuring better health outcomes for all.

Here at the Australian General Practice Network, we work alongside the Immunisation Coalition Roche Diagnostics, GSK, and local General Practices to reduce the impact of respiratory disease here in Australia.

We do this through education, outreach, and on-the-ground pilot programs using verified PCR rapid testing, especially helping aged care residents, veterans, childcare centres, and community groups stay informed and connected.

At AGPN, we are proud to support these highly trained specialists who serve as the frontline of the Australian healthcare system. 🩺

A GP doesn’t just see you when you’re sick - they keep you from getting sick in the first place.

From managing complex chronic conditions like diabetes to spotting early warning signs of cancer, the GP-patient partnership is the foundation of a long, healthy life. 🩺💙

Did you know that high breast density can make it harder to spot cancer on a standard mammogram? We have successfully advocated for breast density to be included in screening reports so women can better understand their risks.

Knowledge is power - talk to your GP about what your results mean for you. 🌸

With Alzheimer's, including young-onset Dementia, increasingly affecting individuals and families across the country, we need to act now. 🧡 We’re raising awareness, supporting people living with Alzheimer's, and pushing for stronger care and prevention measures.

Together we can give a voice to those who need it.

Here at Australian General Practice Network, we work with decision-makers to make sure general practice is heard and that policies reflect what patients and clinics really need.

👉 Our aim is a health system that’s easier to access, more efficient, and focused on the people it serves!

Despite free breast screening being available to women over 40 in every Australian state, fewer than 6 in 10 women are getting screened.

If you’re eligible, book your mammogram today - and remind the women in your life to do the same. Early detection saves lives!

AGPN connects doctors, health workers, communities and businesses to improve everyday health. This Christmas, help us make our mission happen by donating to us at - www.agpn.org.au/donate 🧡

👏 $15 helps us provide breast screening education in rural clinics, helping more women detect cancer early.

👏 $30 supports our Whispering Hearts campaign, with research into technologies that support people with Alzheimer's and their carers to remain at home.

👏 $50 funds direct outreach to general practices about RSV, COVID, and flu vaccines, ensuring older Australians and pregnant women are protected during the cooler months.

👏 $100 allows us to continue advocating nationally for better GP funding - fighting for a sustainable system where your GP can keep their doors open!

"Interval cancers" are those detected between two-yearly mammograms. For women with dense breasts, these cancers can sometimes be masked during a standard screen, appearing only after they have had more time to grow.

A new study published in the Journal of Medical Imaging and Radiation Oncology shows that notifying women about their breast density is making a real difference. By knowing their density, more women are seeking further advice and supplementary screening, allowing cancers to be detected significantly earlier.

Early detection is the best defence. Talk to your GP about your breast density and whether supplemental screening is right for you.

Every year, Australian hospitals see thousands of people admitted with respiratory infections like influenza, COVID, and RSV - many of which are preventable.

Here at the Australian General Practice Network, we’re working alongside the Immunisation Coalition, Roche Diagnostics, GSK, and local General Practices to change that story.

Through education, outreach, and on-the-ground pilot programs using verified PCR rapid testing, we’re helping aged care residents, veterans, childcare centres, and community groups stay informed and connected.

Together, we can reduce the burden of respiratory illness and help every Australian breathe easier. 💙
