"After five years of dedicated service, AFSS officially concluded our NDIS Services Program on 27 February 2026.

Since becoming a registered provider in 2022, our team delivered Support Coordination, Mentoring and Support Worker services to Aboriginal participants and families across South Australia. We were proud to walk alongside community - helping people navigate the NDIS, build confidence, connect with culturally safe services, and strengthen independence.

A highlight of this journey was the 'Be With Me' Navigator Project, which improved access to the NDIS and other supports for Aboriginal people with disability and their families.

While this chapter has now closed, its impact continues. We thank our participants, families, staff, service providers and stakeholders for their trust and collaboration".

It has been a privilege to serve and support our community".

The AFSS Eldercare & NDIS teams would like to acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we work and live, the Kaurna people, and pay our respects to Elders past and present.

🌻 R U OK? Day 🌻

Today we pause as a team at AFSS to recognise the importance of checking in on each other, our families, Elders, communities and colleagues.

For our mob, connection has always been at the heart of who we are. Sitting together, having a yarn, listening with respect and showing care is how we keep each other strong.

Our NDIS & Eldercare teams know that life can feel heavy sometimes. Reaching out doesn’t need to be complicated, it can be as simple as asking, “Are you OK?” and really listening to the answer.

🖤 If someone isn’t OK, we don’t need to have all the answers, just being there can make all the difference.
💛 We encourage everyone to take time today to check in with a loved one, an Elder, or a friend.
❤️ Together, we can keep building safe spaces where our people feel heard, supported and never alone.

We love being out and about for NAIDOC Week, celebrating culture, history, and community together! ❤️💛🖤 It’s always a privilege to connect, share stories, and stand in unity with mob and allies alike.

🌟 NAIDOC 2025 in the North 🌟

A huge thank you to our AFSS NDIS and Elder Care teams for representing us at NAIDOC in the North!

Their friendly presence and meaningful conversations had a real impact. It was great to see so many people connecting, learning about available supports, and celebrating culture together.

It was also great to see AFSS Chairperson of the Board, Donna Henry, joining in and showing her support for the community.
