We focus on wellness and preventative health care through all ages and stages. Adelaide Health Care opened in 1999 as an independent association of five general practitioners. Over the years we have steadily grown and we now have a strong base of General Practitioners working at the practice. We have a number of dedicated Primary Health Care Nurses who are essential to our team approach. Our aim is to provide high quality health service to people who live, work or study in the city or nearby suburbs. In addition to the more traditional medical care of illness, we promote better health by focusing on illness prevention and improving well-being, both physically and emotionally. We aim to support patients to learn about their health and healthy living.

The busy season is upon us. We understand everyone's schedule is filling up (including our Doctors), so we would like to encourage you to prioritise your health and book your appointments as soon as possible.

Here are some helpful pointers to keep you on top of your health care:

💊 Check your scripts, medication packets, and referrals - If these are running out in the next month, please call the practice and organise an appointment.
⌚ Book in advance - Our Doctor's schedules are filling up fast. Where possible, please pre-book.
📆 Opening times - During the Christmas and New Year period our opening hours are different. Take note of the changes on our website.
😊 Be Kind to yourself and your health care team - We understand that Christmas isn't always pleasant, especially when you are not feeling well. Remember to treat your health care team with respect and kindness.

And of course, take the time to reflect on the past year and celebrate your achievements however small they might be.

Merry Christmas from Adelaide Health Care!

You may be aware that the Government is encouraging GP practices to bulk bill all services from 1st November 2025.

At Adelaide Health Care, we strive to provide excellent and holistic care. Unfortunately, the proposed funding model does not support us to do this, and we will not be registering for this scheme.

The Medicare rebate (the amount you receive) does not cover the real cost of providing care.

We will remain a private billing practice so that we can give you time, provide safe and thorough care, and stay sustainable for the future.

We know that the cost of health care is a concern, and we encourage you to contact your local Federal Member of Parliament to explain how these changes impact you.
