PLEASE NOTE - Bookings are starting to fill well into December. I have made the difficult decision to close my books to new clients in the lead up to Christmas. This will allow me the time to spend looking after my amazing and loyal existing clients. I will review this in the New Year. Mary however is taking new bookings, so if you would like an appointment please book online to secure your spot! Thank you, Joanne. Joanneheggie.com. au

As of 2 nd September, more regulation changes have occurred in our industry. What will this mean for you? Not a lot. You may wonder why we don’t post brand names, before and after photos or talk about the treatments we perform. This is against regulation and has been for some time now. What has now changed? We will no longer be able to write our services on our website. This may cause some confusion as to what we offer, as well as what you are booking in for. We offer personalised consultations in clinic to answer these questions. If unsure please ask us. Also, some exciting new changes will be happening to our website and booking systems in the near future. Will keep you posted. Joanne and Mary

HORMONAL HEALTH

Many of us are heading into our 40’s and 50’s, and are knocking on the door of perimenopause and menopause. Whilst we can help you address some of the visible elements of the ageing process, we need to be mindful how our hormonal health is integral to healthy ageing.

Some of our top tips for Hormonal Balance and Longevity in Ageing.

1) Reduce sugar intake and engage in regular exercise (this helps optimise insulin sensitivity).
2) Manage stress. This is easier said than done (trust me,I know), but try and find a way that works for you. Some people it may be yoga, mindfulness or meditation. This helps regulate cortisol and support the adrenal cortex.
3) Support thyroid function, with a diet that is rich in hormone supporting nutrients. These include iodine and selenium ie fish, eggs, nuts.
4) Engage in resistance training to maintain muscle mass.
5) Consider HRT, and non hormonal options when appropriate.
Speak to your GP if this is suitable for you.
6) Prioritise sleep.
7) Incorporate key nutrients such as omega 3’s, vitamin D.

Please remember, in clinic treatments are only one aspect of healthy ageing.
By applying some of these principles, we can all live a more vibrant and healthy life.
