Thanks to Alan Jenkins for coming to talk about some new practice thinking in ethical becomings and violence accountability, specifically making some workable sense of Shame through the neurobiology and neuro-narrative of Affect (Panksepp, 1998). Our little practice group has evolved from 2008, and keeps supporting our work with clients.

Revisiting some helpful Narrative Texts:

In Narrative Therapy: Making Meaning Making Lives (2007: Brown & Augusta-Scott, Eds):

Normand Carrey writes about "Psychiatry: Through with a Narrative Lens".

He laments: "With the advent of the DSM, a descriptive classification model of mental disorders, psychopharmacology and evidence-based medicine, psychiatry has become dominated by a primarily modernist, biologically focused approach to peoples problems."

Then goes on to make an elegant case for the bridging of the modern with the post-modern in working safely and playfully with children and young people.
