These words are positive words to replace the negative words - 'disabled' and 'disability'. Every individual has ability, only dead people have a disability (ie no ability). Para-abled and Parability are in line with the words Paralympic and Paramedic which have been accepted world wide. (Para-abled and Parability as companion words were devised by Jan C***s)

Sharing a story of hope, of courage, of selflessness, things we can all take inspiration from at a time of intense loss, sorrow and despair.

This is Ahmed al-Ahmed.

Most Aussies now know him as the hero of the Bondi massacre.

A man with two young daughters, everything to live for, who could have run the other way but chose to put his own life at risk for others.

He was shot several times in his efforts and is undergoing surgeries in hospital.

An act of such selflessness and love for others, an intensely human act of solidarity, and bravery of the very highest order.

A reminder of another hero, the security guard who did likewise during the Bondi Junction stabbings a few years ago, Muhammad Taha, a Pakistani who was then offered citizenship.

It shows that it doesn’t matter where we’re from, what colour we are, what language we speak, these men demonstrate that selflessness and love for others should always prevail.

And they remind us what Australia is all about.

All communities together, all protecting each other, putting others first. Violence is a cycle that never ends until enough people decide that it will. When enough see the humanity in others. And these acts of love and selflessness, seeing people at risk without conditions, without provisos but as fellow humans, provide a light for everyone to see, and to replicate.

Thankyou to Ahmed.

You’re an absolute legend mate.

Two years ago I wrote to the United Nations in Canberra about the words Para-able and Parability. They emailed me to say on my behalf they were forwarding my letter to the United Nations in Geneva Switzerland.

I am starting a worldwide campaign to take the dis out of disability.

I was delighted to be invited, last Sunday, by L'Arche to their Disability Community Weekend to be interviewed about my published Book 'Thanks Mosquito For the Great Ride, and other subjects. It was a great thoughtful 1/2 hour interview by Cameron Bradshaw (pictured) plus questions from the audience.

My husband and I were made to feel so welcome, there was even a welcome song for us.

Thank you, Cameron Bradshaw
