The 'let them' approach has some benefit for ppl looking to shift their habits and move from codependency to interdependence and a more secure self.
But for many ppl, especially those in emotionally barren, or explosive / violent environments and children in the mix - let them is NOT the responsible approach.
When your home is in survival mode bc of emotional neglect, family violence of any sort or harm between siblings - 'let them' is the silence which being permissive, complicit and no breaks in cycles.
So while it isn't about shouting or trying to get ppl to change. It is about naming problematic behaviours, ensuring those who need protection know they are not alone and have somewhere to run and making changes within your own control
