Back In Motion Hampstead Gardens

Back In Motion Hampstead Gardens Providers of physiotherapy and related services.

For over 10 years, the Back In Motion Health Group has been providing Australians with physiotherapy and related services. Like most great stories the growth from humble beginnings to a budding group of hard working, devoted and caring physiotherapists rose from an unwavering vision. To offer a physiotherapy service of the highest quality with a strong philosophy of care that would seek to provide lasting results for those sick of endless quick fixes. We provide a holistic solution that enables clients to get what they want out of physiotherapy, perhaps getting back to sport, back to work, back to living, or just doing what they loved but were unable to do. By utilising the benefits of a broader range of clinical methods including clinical Pilates, massage, dry needling, and hydrotherapy and more all under the expert guidance of a physiotherapist, Back In Motion has been able to give its clients not only a great experience, but also the outcome they wanted.

If you’ve never seen a physio before, you’re not alone!

Telling someone exactly what we do can be tricky because we work across so many different areas to help our patients.

We also often work closely with other allied health professionals to ensure each patient is getting the best care for their condition.

So what do physios do? A lot! Have a read of this blog to discover more: https://bit.ly/495di6K

Pain is a topic we talk about often with our patients, and it can sometimes be difficult to know what pain is normal and what needs attention.

For example, it is common to feel some discomfort after increasing activity or trying something new.

However, pain that lingers, worsens over time, or starts to interfere with your day-to-day activities may be a sign that something else is going on.

You know your body best. Paying attention to how it feels and how it responds to movement is important, especially if something doesn’t feel quite right.

As physiotherapists, our role is to help identify factors contributing to the experience of pain and support you to keep moving safely and confidently.

If you have concerns or ongoing discomfort, we are here to help and guide you.

Perfect posture doesn't mean you have to sit perfectly in one spot all day. It's actually about variety! 🪑

Here are three things to remember if you’re sitting at a desk:

1. Make sure you change positions regularly.
2. Take regular breaks.
3. Be mindful of how you sit or stand.

This can help keep you comfortable and moving well throughout the day.

We know it’s easy to get in the zone while you work, so if you find you’re not moving regularly, set yourself a timer for every 30 minutes to get up and have a micro-break or short stretch.

Hands up if you stretch properly before exercise? Don’t worry, we’ve all been guilty of not warming up at some point.

But taking time to warm up properly not only makes moving feel a whole lot easier - it also helps to reduce your risk of injury.

So before you hit the footy field, pitch or court, take a few minutes to warm up, stretch, and get your body moving.

Your body will thank you for it!

Hands up if you have a smartwatch or step tracker on your wrist?

It might be time to check your daily steps and set yourself a goal! We talk a lot about movement, but keeping active can help to improve both your physical and mental health. If you find you’re not getting many steps in each day, consider small changes in your daily life for positive results.

☀️ Instead of planning a coffee shop catchup with a friend, grab a coffee together and go for a walk.
☀️Add some extra distance to your dog’s daily walk.
☀️ Adjust your commute to get off the train or bus a stop earlier and walk the rest of the way to work for some extra steps.
☀️ Schedule your exercise in your calendar.

What are your favourite ways to make sure you’re moving enough?

Planning some summer bike rides? 🚴‍♂️

Cycling is a great activity to keep you active, while being low-impact on your joints. If you’re new to cycling, it’s important to set yourself up for success.

Before you ride, adjust your bike seat and pump up your tyres before a ride and take a few minutes to warm up before hopping on the bike.

As you build confidence, start slowly and increase your distance or intensity gradually.

Listening to your body and allowing time to recover will help you enjoy cycling and keep it a sustainable part of your routine. Enjoy your ride!☀️

School holidays are in full swing! 🌞

With a few weeks still to go, there is plenty of opportunity to enjoy the outdoors and keep moving over summer.

For families, the focus is on encouraging children to be active while making safety a priority. Simple steps such as wearing supportive footwear, supervising activities, and using helmets when cycling can make a big difference.

Movement should be enjoyable, confidence-building and safe. With the right balance, kids can stay active, have fun and enjoy everything summer has to offer. 🚴

Happy New Year! 🎉

January is a great time to focus on healthy habits for the year ahead. The good news is that meaningful changes can be achieved with small, consistent actions over time.

If you haven’t set any New Years’ resolutions yet, consider starting with simple, achievable goals like:
- Moving more
- Prioritising quality sleep
- Drinking more water throughout the day.

To improve your chances of sticking with these goals, try turning them into SMART goals. That means making them specific, measurable, achievable, realistic and time-bound. For example, instead of saying “I want to exercise more”, you might say: “I will commit to moving for 30 minutes, three times per week, for the next four weeks.”

Being clear about what you are doing, how often, and for how long helps turn good intentions into sustainable habits, rather than vague goals that are easy to abandon.

What health goals are you setting for 2026?
