When oestrogen starts running high, your body usually lets you know 👀

Excess oestrogen in the body kinda looks like 👉🏻 ongoing bloating, fluid retention, tender breasts (especially around menstrual cycle), skin changes, PMS, mood swings

There’s just something about homemade pesto that feels like you’ve got your life together 🤌🏼

This batch turned out SO GOOD and genuinely took 3 minutes!

Here’s what’s in it:

Ingredients:
• 2 cups fresh basil
• 1 cup spinach or rocket
• 1/4 cup pepitas (or pine nuts, or literally whatever nuts are in your pantry)
• Juice of 1 lemon
• 2 tbsp EVOO
• 2–3 minced garlic cloves (mincing first helps avoid any raw garlic bombs 😅)
• Freshly grated parmesan (or nutritional yeast if you’re dairy-free)
• Salt & pepper
• A little water if your blender needs help

Method:
Blend until it looks like pesto. That’s it. make the consistency how you like some people like slick and smooth, other like a bit of crunch & texture 🫰🏼

Pop it in a jar + keep in the fridge for up to 5 days (but let’s be real… it won’t last)!

You can spread this on everything! Like cheese + pesto toastie, chicken pesto pasta salad, your classic pesto spaghetti, endless possibilities ✨

Need some healthy summer comfort dinner inspo? 👉🏻

These Light Black Bean Burgers are my favourite pre–hot yoga lunch; satisfying like a regular burger but without the heaviness.

Serve on crisp lettuce with tomato or red onion (or whatever veggies are in your personal Metabolic Balance plan) and finish with a squeeze of fresh lime

Recipe:
• 1¾ cups (300g) canned black beans, rinsed + drained
• ½ small zucchini
• 2 tbsp chopped onion
• 2 rye crackers (Ryvita or Wasa)
• ¼ tsp garlic powder
• Salt + black pepper to taste
• 1 tbsp coconut oil

Method:
1. In a food processor, combine beans, zucchini, onion, crackers, garlic powder, salt + pepper. Pulse until just combined and sticky, don’t puree.
2. Divide mixture in half and shape into 2 patties (about 2.5cm thick).
3. Heat coconut oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and cook patties for 5–7 mins each side, until browned.

Light, balanced, and actually so delicious 🤌🏼

Carrot & Chicken Breakfast Muffins 🫶

A wholesome, protein-rich start to your day! Unexpected combination of flavours. Perfect for busy mornings or a savoury snack on the go.

These muffins are packed with nourishing ingredients like carrot, spring onion and gently poached chicken, bringing together comfort and nutrition in every bite.

Prep: 15 mins
Cook: 35 mins
Makes: 13 muffins

Ingredients
• 2 medium chicken breasts (300 g)
• 5 cloves garlic
• 1 celery stick, diced
• 1 bay leaf (optional)
• 350 g grated carrot or squash
• 2 spring onions, finely chopped
• 1 tsp cinnamon
• 1 tsp salt
• 1 Tbsp olive oil (add after phase 2 if following reset)

Method
1️⃣ Preheat oven to 190 °C and boil water.
2️⃣ Simmer chicken with garlic, celery, salt, and bay leaf for 15 mins. Cool slightly, shred, and chop.
3️⃣ Combine chicken, garlic, cinnamon, salt, onions, and grated carrot (squeeze out some juice). Add olive oil.
4️⃣ Shape into small patties and place in greased muffin wrappers.
5️⃣ Bake for 20 mins until golden. Cool slightly and enjoy!

Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days, perfect for a grab-and-go breakfast or lunchbox addition.

Our vision at Healthful is to create a nourishing environment for women from all walks of life. It is our goal to provide realistic and easy to implement health plans as well as a range of health services to the women of Adelaide as well as now Australia wide. We believe that health is a way of life and we love to encourage each individual to make the steps necessary to achieve their own health goals.

Our Naturopaths, Jacqui and Gemma are here to support you in the best way possible.

Jacqui specialises in symptoms such as peri to post menopause, fibroids, thyroid disorders, endometriosis, PMS and amenorrhoea.

Gemma has a keen interest for gut health, stress related disorders, teenage hormone health, pre- pregnancy support and auto-immune disease.
