We love sharing good news stories like this!

Beyond Making it Happen (Adelaide) participant -Chen, has been working closely with a 1:1 mentor at Beyond Program to explore his employment goals and build his confidence for the workforce. During this time, he showed a strong interest in becoming an Uber Eats delivery driver. With the support of his mentors, Chen took the time to learn about what the job involves. This included the responsibilities, requirements, and skills needed to succeed.

Through his dedication and willingness to try something new, Chen has now achieved an exciting milestone… he has officially started working as a delivery person!

Chen stopped by to visit us while completing a delivery to a nearby location. It was such a proud moment for everyone to see him out in the community, working independently, and putting his skills into action.

Chen’s journey is a great example of how setting goals, having the right support, and giving things a go can lead to real opportunities. We are incredibly proud of everything he has achieved and can’t wait to see what he does next.

Well done, Chen!

🌏✨ Harmony Week in Port Augusta ✨🌏

Our Port Augusta Choices group had a fantastic time attending the Multicultural Festival to celebrate Harmony Week!

The group explored a variety of vibrant stalls and activities, took part in a traditional cultural dance, enjoyed face painting, and so much more. It was a wonderful opportunity to experience different cultures and embrace the diversity that makes our community so special.

We love getting involved in local events—creating connections, trying new things, and celebrating what makes each of us unique. 💛

A truly great day celebrating inclusivity, culture, and community!

Our Beyond Making it Happen (Adelaide) groups caught public transport down to Elder Park to visit the AFL Gather Round footy festival. It was a great day out in the city with lots of energy and excitement all around.

While we were there, we explored a range of fun footy-themed activities, got involved in interactive games, and enjoyed the festival atmosphere. Everyone had the chance to experience different AFL experiences up close.

A highlight of the day was watching AFL players being interviewed live, which made the experience even more exciting and memorable for the group.

🌟 Good News Story: Meet Lochlan 🌟

We’re proud to shine a light on Lochlan– a confident, passionate performer and a valued CBS Inc. Jobnet Elizabeth client who is making a real impact through music and community connection. 🎤

Lochlan recently delivered his first paid workshop and Q&A, supporting young people with disability to write, create and perform their own music. He described the experience as a “wonderful event” and a meaningful opportunity to connect youth with youth in an inclusive and empowering space.

Having seen Lochlan headline at the Fringe Festival with Northern Sound, it’s clear he brings incredible talent, stage presence, and energy to every performance. Not only is he a gifted musician, but he’s also a natural MC who makes everyone feel welcome and part of the experience.

Looking ahead, Lochlan hopes to continue performing while building a career working with young people, in radio, or hosting events. He’s also giving back by volunteering with Northern Sound to support community engagement and future events.

🙌 A big thank you to CBS Inc. Jobnet Elizabeth for all the hard work and support in helping clients like Lochlan achieve their goals.

👏 Keep an eye on Lochlan – his journey is just getting started, and it’s an inspiring one to watch!

We are looking forward to seeing you all here today.

Last week, CBS Inc. was proud to host our Education Forum, bringing together passionate professionals, partners, and community members to share ideas, insights, and opportunities in the education and employment space.

The forum provided a valuable platform for meaningful discussions around supporting people with disability to achieve their goals, while strengthening collaboration across sectors. It was inspiring to see so many voices contributing to such important conversations and working together towards more inclusive outcomes.

A big thank you to everyone who attended, presented, and supported the event — your involvement made it a great success!

Another fantastic week at Sprout Cooking School for our HI Project participants! 👏

The crowd-favourite sausage rolls were a hit once again, turning out absolutely perfect. Then on Thursday, we were lucky to welcome some special guests, Freddie Brincat OAM , Founder and Executive Director of CBS Inc. and Craig Love, Executive Manager - NDIS who rolled up their sleeves, put on the aprons, and jumped right into the kitchen with the group.

Together, they prepared a delicious lunch of steaks served on freshly made flatbread, topped with a vibrant chimichurri sauce — a real treat for everyone involved! 🌿🥩

A week filled with great food, teamwork, and hands-on learning — the perfect way to wrap up our final week at Sprout. Well done to all participants for their amazing effort! 💛

On Wednesday, our CBS Inc. Port Lincoln team proudly hosted a Meet the Local Team event! 👋

As CBS Inc. continues to grow, so too does our presence in Port Lincoln. With this growth comes an expanded range of programs and services, all designed to better support people with disability across the region.

The event was a fantastic opportunity for the community to:
• Meet our expanding Port Lincoln team
• Learn more about the programs currently offered through our local office
• Hear directly from our Program Coordinators about how their services support participants

A special thank you to our wonderful MC and CBS Inc. Moonlight Speaker, Darcy, for bringing warmth and energy to the event 🌟
And a big thank you to Meg and the team for organising such a fantastic and welcoming event — your hard work made it all possible!

We’re so grateful to everyone who came along to connect, learn, and support our growing community. Thank you again for being part of it! 💙

CBS Inc. Socialize West Elizabeth took on a fantastic challenge this week—selecting a meal from the Food Co-Op to prepare and enjoy at home! 👩‍🍳🏡

This activity wasn’t just about cooking—it was about building independence in the community and bringing those valuable skills back into the home (while filling some very happy bellies too!).

These meal kits are a game changer—packed with everything you need to create a delicious meal for four people. They’re generous, budget-friendly, reduce food waste, and take the stress out of that daily question… “what’s for dinner?” 🤔🍽️

A huge shoutout to James for a fantastic effort—Mexican Chicken for the win! 🌮🔥
