๐ŸŽ“ Australian First: Opening New Employment Pathways

CBS Inc. is proud to announce an innovative new partnership with Flinders University, launching the Australian-first Diploma of Employment Pathways โ€” a groundbreaking program creating meaningful, supported employment opportunities for people with intellectual disability.

Commencing March 2026, this one-year diploma combines university-based learning with career planning, employability skills and real-world work placements, supported by CBS Inc.โ€™s strong employer and industry connections. The program is strengths-based, tailored, and designed to build confidence, independence and long-term career success.

Registered student Zac Colton said โ€œIโ€™m really keen to start the Diploma of Employment at Flinders. Itโ€™s an incredible opportunity to build on my past IT experience and make new friends. Iโ€™ve always wanted to experience university life, and Iโ€™m excited to see what it has to offer.โ€

CBS Inc. Founder and Executive Director Freddie Brincat (OAM) said โ€œWe have seen so many of our participants with an intellectual disability in our Commonwealth funded Inclusive Employment Australia (IEA) program obtain great jobs that they never thought achievable on leaving school. This is despite having virtually no access to universities and limited access to TAFE. Though available in many overseas countries like Spain this Diploma will be a real door opener to further career opportunities and I know many students just canโ€™t wait to start.โ€

Flinders Project Lead, Associate Professor Fiona Rillotta said โ€œeveryone has equal right to access higher education, and this Diploma will support students with intellectual disability to demonstrate their learning at university level in ways that work for them. Our partnership with CBS Inc. will enable career pathways that some students and graduates may never have thought possible.โ€

Together, CBS Inc. and Flinders University are setting a new national benchmark for inclusive education and employment โ€” because everyone deserves the opportunity to learn, work, contribute and belong.

๐ŸŽ‰ Today weโ€™re all together celebrating Johnโ€™s 40th birthday โ€” and what a milestone it is! ๐ŸŽ‰

John is one of the key members of our Claims Team and a truly hardworking, dedicated employee at CBS Inc. who worked with CBS Inc. for 10 years. His loyalty, commitment, and willingness to go above and beyond are second to none.

John genuinely enjoys his work โ€” whether heโ€™s assisting and training Jobnet staff or taking on new challenges with Payroll to expand his knowledge (yes, heโ€™s basically a knowledge sponge ๐Ÿง ). His readiness to help and share what he knows makes him an invaluable part of our team.

John, weโ€™re incredibly lucky to have you and canโ€™t wait to see what the next 10 years bring โ€” hopefully with even more success, laughter, and maybe a little less frustration over statistical improbability.

๐Ÿ‘ Well done, John! You make a positive difference at CBSI every single day. ๐ŸŽ‚๐ŸŽˆ

Whyalla NDIS supports โ€“ Choices & Beyond

๐ŸŒฑ Growing skills, connection & community ๐ŸŒฑ

Getting involved in our local community is something we truly love. Our Monday Independent Living Skills group and Friday Choices Gardening group have been visiting The Orchard Community Garden each week, learning the vital skills needed to grow and maintain a thriving garden.

From planting, pruning, weeding and harvesting, our participants have put in an incredible amount of work โ€” and it was recently celebrated at a community event hosted by Hope Whyalla. ๐ŸŒฟ

The local community enjoyed the beautiful space our groups have helped develop and care for, and some of our participants even created and hung colourful pompoms on the Tree of Hope ๐Ÿ’š

We currently have availability in both groups and would love to welcome new participants โ€” especially anyone with a green thumb (or keen to grow one!). ๐ŸŒผ
