Today marks the anniversary of the National Apology to the Stolen Generations.
Today we honour the strength, courage and resilience of survivors and their families. The Apology was an important step in acknowledging the wrongs of the past and affirming the enduring strength of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, cultures and communities. As we reflect, we continue to walk forward together – grounded in truth, healing and hope for future generations.
We also recognise that this day may stir up feelings for some in our community.
