On Saturday 18 October 2025, we proudly held our annual St John Ambulance SA Awards Ceremony at the Adelaide Pavilion, a beautiful setting for such a significant celebration. We thank the venue team for their support on the day.
We were honoured to have Her Excellency the Honourable Frances Adamson AC DStJ, Governor of South Australia and Deputy Prior of St John SA, join us and present awards to our team. Thank you also to Senior Kaurna man Robert Taylor for his warm and personal Welcome to Country, and to our emcee, 7NEWS Adelaide journalist Jasmin Teurlings, whose professionalism and energy helped bring the event to life.
The ceremony recognised extraordinary commitment across our organisation, with service ranging from 10 to an incredible 60 years of volunteering. Awards were presented across Operations, Community Services, Training, Youth and Staff, highlighting the wide reaching impact of our work and our people.
This year holds special significance as we celebrate both 140 years of St John in South Australia and 100 years of our Youth Development Program nationally.
Reflecting on the achievements celebrated on the day, our Chair, Mary Patetsos, shared:
'Across our organisation, the common thread has always been people. The ones who put on a uniform, teach a class, respond to a call, comfort a stranger, guide a young person, or support an older member of our community. Each contribution is a stitch in the fabric of who we are. None of that happens alone. Thank you for everything you have given, and everything you continue to give. Enjoy this moment. You’ve earned it.'
To all our award recipients, and to those who could not attend, we celebrate you, we thank you, and we recognise everything you do.
