Women tell me these things AFTER they have given birth… things they wish someone had explained before, not when they were in labour or afterwards trying to piece together what actually just happened.

So many mums only learn about what’s optional, what’s normal, what’s intense-but-safe, what partners can actually do, and how much birth is affected by positions, hormones and the room you’re in — once it’s all over.

And every time I hear it, I think:
you deserved to know this sooner.

Birth feels completely different when you walk in understanding how your body works, why things change the way they do, and what you’re allowed to ask for.

If you want to feel informed, calm and confident going into labour — before you’re in the thick of it — comment HYPNO and I’ll send you the details for the Positive Birth Program.

I wish every pregnant woman could learn Hypnobirthing Australia™ — and I’m saying this from my living room floor with my 4-year-old climbing on me, because that’s real life… and that’s the energy I bring into this space.

Warm.
Chill.
Down-to-earth.
A bit of a laugh.
And a place where you can actually make friends and start building your village.

Hypnobirthing Australia™ isn’t about being perfectly calm or pretending birth follows a script.
It’s evidence-based, practical education that helps you understand what’s happening in your body, how to settle your nervous system, and how to make informed decisions when things shift.

And you get to learn it with someone who makes you feel relaxed and comfortable — even if you’re nervous, overwhelmed, or unsure where to start.

I’m a certified Hypnobirthing Australia™ practitioner, but I’m also a mum juggling real life on the lounge room floor.
So you don’t need to show up polished or confident — you just need to show up, and I’ll meet you there.

If you’re wanting clarity, calmness, community and a few laughs along the way, comment HYPNO and I’ll send you the details.

Birth doesn’t follow scripts — and that can feel scary.

But a change in the plan does not equal trauma.

Trauma often comes from feeling unheard, confused or pushed — not from the clinical pathway itself.

Hypnobirthing helps you understand your options, your rights and your physiology so you can make informed decisions even when things shift.

This is how we protect birth experiences.

This is how we build confidence.

This is how hospital birth becomes empowering.

Comment HYPNO.

Let’s clear the noise, because the internet has made hospital birth sound far more frightening than it needs to be.

The room isn’t the problem — fear is.
Fear freezes your body.
Fear shuts down your hormones.
Fear makes you doubt your instincts.

But when you understand what’s actually happening in your body, and how the system works, everything shifts.

Most midwives want you to feel safe.
You’re allowed to ask questions.
Your partner matters more than you’ve been told.
You control more than you think — your breath, your environment, your choices.
And your body still leads the whole process, even inside a hospital.

Hospital birth can be powerful.
Deeply connected.
Calm.
And yours.

Double tap if you agree!

When someone tells you induction is your only option, it’s easy to freeze and panic!
You don’t want to be “difficult”.
You don’t want to sound like you don’t trust your care provider.
You just want to understand what’s happening.

These are simple, calm questions any person can ask:

• Can you explain why I’m being offered an induction?
(I just want to understand.)

• Is this something that needs to happen today, or do I have some time?

• What are the benefits of doing the induction now?

• What are the possible downsides for me or baby?

• If we waited a little and kept an eye on things, what would that look like?

• Are there any other options we could try first?

• What are the steps involved in induction?
(And do I need all of them?)

• How might this change the way my labour looks or feels?

That’s it.
No medical language.
No pressure.
Just clarity, confidence, and genuine questions you are completely allowed to ask.

You’re not being “difficult”.
You’re gathering information so you can choose what feels right for you and your baby.

Save this post to remember what questions to ask your care provider!

Why choose me as your birth educator?

Because I’ve lived the very experiences I now support women through.

I didn’t step into birth education because it looked good on a business card.

I stepped into it after IVF, medicalised pregnancies, induction, epidural, forceps, and later a physiological, drug-free birth.

Every version taught me what safety, support and real preparation feel like inside the hospital system.

I’m trained through Childbirth International, a Certified Hypnobirthing Australia™ Practitioner, and a lactation consultant with years in the birth and postpartum space.

But my biggest qualification comes from understanding both sides: the medical system and physiological birth.

I absolutely respect home birth.

I love that it’s an option for many.

But I never personally felt safe birthing at home — and countless women feel the same.

That’s why I teach from a place that honours hospital birth as valid, powerful and deserving of incredible education.

My work sits in the middle ground that’s missing online:

support for women who want an empowered hospital birth, with clarity, confidence and evidence-based tools.

If you want to feel steady, informed and supported for your birth, the Feb Positive Birth Program waitlist is open.

I know this won’t land well with everyone, but it needs to be said: the way social media speaks about hospital birth is doing more harm than good. As a doula, I have felt this for a while now!

Trauma is real.
Women’s stories matter.
The system absolutely needs change.
But hospital birth itself isn’t the villain.

With evidence-based education, nervous-system preparation and support, hospital birth can be beautiful, empowering and deeply connected.

Midwives aren’t causing harm — fear, misinformation and lack of preparation are.
This series is here to change that.
Follow along.

And if you want a hospital birth you feel proud of, comment HYPNO for the waitlist.

If you’re pregnant in 2026, consider this your nudge — jump on the waitlist today.

Hypnobirthing Australia is coming to House of Mother in February, and spots are already going quickly.

This program changes the way you walk into birth.
It gives you real tools, grounded confidence and a calm, steady mindset — even when birth takes its own path.
Calm instead of panic.
Clarity instead of overwhelm.
Strength instead of second-guessing.

And yes — this isn’t just theory.
I learned these tools myself, and they helped me have a calm, positive and empowered birth within the hospital system.
That’s why I’m so passionate about teaching this program: because you don’t have to be outside the system to have a beautiful birth experience.
You can be informed, supported and powerful wherever you birth.

Inside the program, you’ll learn: • how to work with your hormones, breath and body
• how to stay centred as intensity rises
• how to navigate hospital care with confidence
• how your partner can support you in a way that actually helps
• how to create a positive birth experience — no matter how your baby arrives

If you want a birth that feels informed, grounded and powerful — this is where you start.

Seven spots left. Once they’re taken, February is full.

Comment Hypno to join the waitlist.

For the C-section mamas who feel like they have to defend their story — this is for you.

Let’s cut the noise.

A C-section isn’t a failure.
It’s not “less natural”.
And it is absolutely not the easy way out.

It’s major abdominal surgery.
It’s strength in a room full of bright lights and split-second decisions.
It’s bravery while exhausted, scared, and doing whatever it takes to meet your baby safely.

You navigated the version of birth that protected your baby.
That deserves respect — not commentary.

Birth doesn’t have a hierarchy.
There is no gold-standard way to bring a baby into the world.
You do not need to explain, justify, or apologise for your birth.

Your story stands on its own.

Double tap if you agree.

Your breath is one of the most powerful tools you have in labour — and most women don’t realise just how much it changes the entire experience.

Your breath can:
• drop your pain perception
• calm your nervous system within seconds
• slow your heart rate
• relax your jaw, pelvic floor and birth canal
• keep your uterus oxygenated so contractions feel more productive and less overwhelming
• stop the panic spiral before it takes over
That’s not “woo woo”.
That’s physiology.

When you breathe with intention, your body responds instantly.

When you breathe with fear, your body braces — and birth feels harder.

This 3-part breath technique works fast because it teaches your body to stay open, soft and steady… even when the intensity rises.

If you learn nothing else for labour, learn this.

Your breath will carry you further than any technique, tool or mantra ever could.

Save this post for birth prep and practice!

Let’s be honest…
The golden hour has incredible benefits.
Skin-to-skin helps temperature regulation, breastfeeding, bonding, calming the nervous system — we know this, and we support it wherever possible.

But here’s the part mums don’t hear enough:
If birth took a different path —
if you needed surgery, assistance, monitoring, or baby needed support —
you didn’t ruin anything.
You didn’t miss the only window.
You didn’t lose your connection.
You didn’t fail.

There are so many ways to regulate your baby’s temperature.
So many ways to support breastfeeding.
So many ways to settle, soothe, bond, attach, and connect.

Birth isn’t fragile — and neither is your relationship with your baby.

Your bond isn’t defined by one hour.
It’s built across thousands of moments you haven’t even lived yet.

Women aren’t scared of birth.
They’re scared of being rushed, dismissed, or left guessing.

The fear doesn’t come from their bodies.
It comes from not knowing what’s happening, what’s normal, or what’s actually a choice.

When you understand your hormones, your stages, your options — you stop walking in blind.
You stop hoping for the best.
You become a bad-ass birther who knows her s**t, no matter how birth ends up.

If this lands and you want real education instead of mixed messages, the waitlist for my February Hypnobirthing Australia Positive Birth Program is open.

Comment hypno and I’ll send you the link or hit the link in my bio.

Dani The Doula

Welcome to my Doula page. My name is Dani and I am a 30 year old mother to a 10 month old baby girl named Myah and a step mother to a 12 year old prenager (new hip word the kids call themselves for pre teenager) named Sascia. I suffered from infertility for 4 years due to endometriosis and adenomyosis, however we were blessed with a beautiful miracle baby girl in December 2017.

Pregnancy and the postpartum period is an amazing journey but such an exhausting and unfamiliar place. It is the most beautiful time, but partners are learning to become parents and are facing a whole new world and sometimes it can be rather daunting. This is where my job as a doula comes into play.

· I want to help women who need guidance with their fertility/infertility. As I have been through infertility myself, I feel I would be an asset and can really comprehend how difficult the rough road of infertility can be and change it for a positive experience.
