Last year, Resthaven Malvern welcomed Henny Penny Hatching - Head Office onsite, allowing residents to experience the excitement of chicks hatching and growing. ๐Ÿฃ

When the program concluded, all chickens were ethically re-homed, with some finding a new home with Resthaven Malvern Personal Care Assistant, Peter!

The site's large, well-equipped, modern salon features wash basins, wall-mounted hairdryers and adjustable salon chairs. The salon is open 1-2 days per week (days are flexible) and has a current client base of 9-10 people per day.

Fancy a spot of baking this long weekend? ๐Ÿง This tried-and-true lemonade scone recipe has been a favourite afternoon treat for many residents and clients over the years!

Ingredients ๐Ÿ‘‡
- 1 cup of lemonade
- 1 cup of cream
- 3 cups of SR flour
- 1 egg

Method ๐Ÿ‘‡
- Preheat oven to 220C (fan forced).
- Add lemonade and cream to sifted flour, mix to form a soft dough. Place on a floured surface.
- Knead dough to a 2cm thickness and cut with a floured cutter.
- Place close together (they help each other to rise) on a tray. Brush with beaten egg and bake for 12-15 minutes.
