Our optometrist Charlie recently attended the Global Specialty Lens Symposium (GSLS) 2026 in Las Vegas, a four-day conference focused on specialty contact lenses including keratoconus, myopia control, orthokeratology, RGPs and sclerals.

A highlight was the interactive poster sessions, where practitioners shared real cases and practical ideas he’s looking forward to exploring in clinic. He also toured the local EyeSpace lab for a behind-the-scenes look at specialty RGP lens manufacturing.

The trip marked the conclusion of Charlie’s Residency at Innovative Eye Care, a program combining independent consulting with co-consulting alongside Lachlan to accelerate clinical development while delivering high-quality patient care.

Please welcome Jacinta, our newest optometrist joining Innovative Eye Care!

Jacinta is a therapeutically endorsed optometrist who completed her Master of Optometry at Flinders University, with a special interest in anterior eye conditions and specialty contact lenses. Her passion for optometry was inspired by her mother’s experience with keratoconus and long-term scleral lens wear.

She’s excited to join the Innovative Eye Care team and looks forward to seeing you in our clinic! Outside of work, Jacinta enjoys staying active with running and reformer pilates.

Our optometrists recently attended and presented at the Orthokeratology Society of Oceania (OSO) Conference on the Gold Coast!

It was a great opportunity for them to connect and engage with colleagues, exchange insights and showcase expertise in Ortho-K and EyeSpace contact lenses; a leading lens design platform developed by our principal optometrist, Lachlan Hoy.
