It's that special time of the year again when we hold our annual campaign. In the past we have restricted our collection to a few days in December, but that has often lead to a hue and cry when people find out late and complain they didn't have a chance to contribute.
So this year we began early - in November!
Join us in making a meaningful impact this Christmas by bringing in non perishable food items any time between now and the 10th of December. We will then donate our collection to FoodBank to help those in need this Christmas.

Sedentary female workers are feeling it the most — reporting neck pain at rates 22% higher than men (71.7% vs 59%), according to the [ Chiropractors Association] Impact of Tech Neck & Neck Pain in Australia survey.
Adjust your thinking and consult a chiro to help prevent and treat workspace musculoskeletal injuries like back pain, neck pain and discomfort and cervicogenic headaches.

By seeking early intervention, ACA chiropractors can provide effective treatment options to help prevent deterioration, improve recovery, reduce severity and help avoid long-term implications including depression and overuse or reliance on medications for chronic pain.

Female laptop users who stretched or took a break every 2 hours were 24% less likely to experience neck pain than those who only did when in physical pain (69.6% vs 86.1%), according to [ Chiropractors Association]'s The Impact of Tech Neck & Neck Pain in Australia report.

Stop work being a pain in the neck! Adjust your thinking this to work well every day. Discover free resources, tips and tools, or consult a chiro, at www.workspaceweek.org.au - because prevention is the best protection.

Work-related musculoskeletal disorders (WMSDs) – what are they?
A range of inflammatory and degenerative conditions affecting the muscles, tendons, ligaments, joints, peripheral nerves and supporting blood vessels, WMSDs may be caused by a single workspace event, but commonly result from repeated harmful workspace activities over an extended period of time.

WorkSpace Week aims to reduce the occurrence and impact of WMSDs caused by physical stress, mental stress, repetitive work and poorly set up non-ergonomic workspaces. Chronic neck and back pain, shoulder stiffness and headaches can be linked to modifiable risk factors in Australian workplaces.

Prevention and early intervention is the best protection against work-related injuries.

It’s WorkSpace Week! 20-26 October

Work well every day to maintain workspace health! According to [tag WORK AUSTRALIA] work-related musculoskeletal disorders (WMSDs) are the leading work, health and safety issue impacting Australian workers in terms of cost and frequency.

The [tag HEALTH ORGANIZATION] has also identified WMSDs as the leading cause of persistent pain conditions worldwide and the second-largest contributor to disability, with low back pain being the top cause of disability globally.

Adjust your thinking to work well EVERY day! Visit workspaceweek.org.au for hints, tips and free resources, or to consult a chiro, because prevention IS the best protection.

🌐📈 World Statistics Day 📈 🌐
Do you know the impact of musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) in Australia?
• WMSDs #1 work, health and safety issue impacting workers - Safe Work Australia
• $55.1B – Annual cost of MSDs to the Australian economy including direct health costs, lost productivity, absenteeism and reduced quality of life (Deloitte Industries)
• 7.3 million (29%) - Australians suffer from chronic MSDs (ABS National Health Survey June 2024)
• 57% - The majority of Australian workers’ compensation claims are for WMSDs (Safe Work Australia) with SafeWork NSW reporting serious WMSD claims requiring one or more weeks absence, averaged almost $65k per claim between 2018-2023.
• Top 4 WMSDs: Low back pain, neck pain, mid-back pain and cervicogenic headaches
• 82% of WMSD patients reported relief through chiropractic healthcare ( for the Chiropractors Association 2023)

Today is the start of National WorkSpace Week, an initiativeby the Chiropractors Association which aims to create safe and healthy workspaces for everybody and to lessen the long-term impact on workers, employers, and the economy by improving the spinal health and wellbeing of all workers vulnerable to WMSDs.

Adjust your thinking this WorkSpace Week (20-26 Oct) - visit www.workspaceweek.org.au to register your organisation so your team can Work Well Every Day because prevention is the protection!

About Us

Adelaide Chiropractic Centre, in its current form, is an amalgamation of two of the first four chiropractic practices established in Adelaide – Adelaide Chiropractic Clinic (Dr Horton) and Breen Chiropractic (Dr Breen). Founded in 1969, Adelaide Chiropractic Centre has withstood the test of time, maintaining its local presence and servicing the Adelaide region from its CBD base.

Our chiropractor, Dr Tamara Swaffer, has been practicing for over 24 years. She has a passion for chiropractic and a commitment to providing the highest quality of care. Her goal is to improve the health and wellbeing of each person who walks through our practice doors, aiming to educate and empower each patient to be an active participant in their health journey.

Operating out of the Adelaide CBD creates opportunities to work with a range of people from all walks of life; she also travels to Kadina to help keep the local farming community in good condition through the intensive periods around seeding and harvest.

Dr Swaffer is also a busy mum. When not sharing her energy and expertise with patients she is contributing to her local community and is involved in her children’s commitments – there is a lot of cricket and soccer. Dr Swaffer has a full life and is blessed to love what she does.
