The 2025 Cochrane review on immediate and early skin-to-skin contact after birth highlights that further randomized controlled trials comparing skin-to-skin contact with ‘usual care’ are no longer ethical.

The findings show there is now enough evidence to make immediate skin-to-skin contact after birth the global standard of care, and as WHO already recommends skin-to-skin the standard of care, the authors argue that randomizing the separation of mother and newborn may no longer be justifiable.

❓️Did you know?

A true knot in the umbilical cord happens in about 1-2 in 100 pregnancies. It can form when bub wriggles through a loop of cord early on.

Thankfully, the cord is cushioned with Wharton’s jelly – a thick, protective layer that helps keep blood flow moving smoothly even when the cord twists or knots.

When you understand and work with your baby’s sleep biology it is unnecessary to try to train your baby how to sleep at night. Just be aware that throughout the first year and beyond, baby humans remain helpless baby mammals who need you for physical contact, comfort and safety. Their need to be close to you is vital for their survival

Yes, most babies still wake during the night at 12 months. No, that doesn’t mean you’re doing anything wrong.

✨ REAL FAMILY, REAL RESULTS ✨

'I couldn't believe it! He fell asleep within 15 minutes!'

This little guy used to take 2 HOURS to fall asleep every night. His parents were exhausted, and with a new baby in the house, something had to change.
Fast forward a few weeks of gentle sleep support... Mum handled bedtime solo (dad was sick) and he was asleep in just 15 minutes! 🙌
This is what happens when you have the right tools that actually fit your family.

Our Story

Does this sound like you?

*You feel like you're just part of a system rather than a person with individual birthing needs. *You would prefer a birth without intervention but you aren't sure of the best way to work towards one. *You haven't had anything to do with babies before and are worried about how you will cope. *You feel confused about the information that was given to you by the hospital and aren't sure how to decide.

I'd love to have a no obligation chat with you to see how we could work together. My aim is to have you feeling confident in your choices, clear about your options and capable of coping with the challenges that pregnancy, birth and parenthood can throw at you.

As your doula and companion I am able to provide comprehensive support in live birth outcomes, including subsequent “rainbow” pregnancies, and can serve as a labour support in all birth situations.
