A great initiative from SAAS!

Meet your Mental Health Co-Responders 👋

The Mental Health Co-Response Service (MH-CORE) brings together on-road paramedics and mental health nurses, to respond to 000 calls where mental health might be a factor.

The integrated response ensures that people experiencing a mental health crisis receive more personalised care, in a familiar setting and avoid an unnecessary trip to the hospital.

The service is a first of its kind collaboration between SA Ambulance Service, Southern Adelaide Local Health Network - SALHN, Northern Adelaide Local Health Network - NALHN and Central Adelaide and is empowering the community to make choices about their own wellbeing.

For their contributions, the team took home the Out of Hospital Strategies and Care Award at this year’s SA Health Awards.
