Sharma Yoga and Therapy by Sharron Macrow When we strive to become better than we are, everything around us becomes better too

A Hatha Yoga class follows a sequence beginning with breath work, warm ups moving into physical postures (asanas), practised more slowly and with more static posture holds.

🌿 Ahimsa ~ non harm , compassion in action 🙏🏼

How easy is it to let someone walk past
To stay in our own bubble
To make assumptions based on what we see.

Kindness doesn't have to be grand
It can be a hello
Eyes contact
A question asked with sincerity

This reminds me of~Ahimsa, the first of the Yamas in yogic philosophy. Ahimsa goes beyond just physical non violence, it encompasses the heartfelt practice of kindness, empathy and love towards oneself, others, animals and the environment.

How and who can you share this heartfelt practice with today? 🩷

🌿 How our Yoga year will Flow 🍃

As of tomorrow, our year of yoga classes we'll move thoughtfully and at a steady pace.

Tomorrow we begin with the chakras system working from the base up to the crown of our head. Focusing on grounding, strength and feeling supported in our bodies.

As the year unfolds, we'll gently weave in the Yamas and Niyamas - simple yoga wisdom that encourages kindness, awareness and balance, both on and off the mat.

This flow works beautifully because we feel the practice first, and the wisdom naturally follows.

Nothing forced, Nothing rushed - just yoga that meets us where we are.

If you are looking for a steady, thoughtful practice, l invite you to join us this year.

Feeling totally blessed for the time we spent in 'Ohakune'
Our last destination of this wonderful trip

💫First stop - Tongariro National Park to the 'Tawhai Falls'
💫Next - Taranaki Falls - Stunning 😯
💫Next Whakapa ski area where we jumped on the Skywaka up to our high tea. This area looked like we had arrived on another planet 😳

I have never seen a ski resort without snow before. Whakapa being on a volcano (still active) is a barren environment with all volcanic rocks.

💫Next to our beautiful friends home with the spectacular views of Mt Ruapehu.

What we have seen and experienced together has been totally breathtaking. My cup is full. 🩷

I love Sun Salutation — it’s such a beautiful way to start the day.

We are so spoilt staying in a stunning lake house here at Lake Rotorua. There’s such an energy… such a spirit about this lake.

So this morning, I take the opportunity to truly salute Lake Rotorua — to honour the land, the water, and the feeling of being here.

It’s not about how it looks… it’s about how it feels.
Grounded. Energised. Connected.” 🌿

There’s something about Lake Taupō that quietens you.
The steam rising from the Waiotapu wonderland geothermal pools felt like the earth exhaling.

And it made me think…
When was the last time we truly stopped long enough to feel awe?

In everyday life — we can feel so much change.

Being here reminded me how powerful it is to return to our natural rhythms.
To soften.
To trust.
To remember we are part of something much bigger.

Some days just stay with you.

Visiting Mitai Māori Village, the Buried Village of Te Wairoa and Hell’s Gate was incredibly grounding — so much culture, history and the raw power of the land.

And then back to our accommodation, slow everything right down, sit together talking, laughing, and sharing how grateful we were. Looking out over Lake Rotorua, taking in all that beauty, there was nowhere else we needed to be.

Grounding, connecting, and simply being present, the wa 💛

A little New Zealand magic ✨

I’ve just spent a few beautiful days in NZ with a few of my dearest friends and we have 7 more days to go.

We arrived in Auckland and honestly… the view from our accommodation stopped us in our tracks. Waking up overlooking the Viaduct was something else – such a cool, vibrant place to be, with the water, the boats, and that buzz in the air.

Our first full day took us to Waiheke Island and wow… what a stunning place. We hopped on a hop-off bus (highly recommend), wandered through the community art gallery, enjoyed a long, delicious lunch at Mudbrick Restaurant, and then ended the day at the beach.
And of course… I couldn’t resist jumping in the water 🌊
Cold? No Refreshing? Absolutely.

So grateful for friendship, travel, laughter, good food, beautiful views and those moments that make you feel really alive. These little pauses fill the cup in the best way 💛

More photos to come 😊

Grounding ~ 'coming home to your body' 🩷

'Ground' in yoga is an invitation to come back to yourself. To feel your feet on the floor, your breath in your body & the support beneath you.

So often we live in our heads thinking, worrying, planning, rushing.

Grounding asks us to soften that and gently return home to the body you're in, right now.

It's about slowing down, noticing sensations and allowing the nervous system to settle, no fixing, no force, just feeling steady, supported and present.

If this resonates take a moment today to pause, feel your breath, and come home to your body. If not today join me and experience grounding on the mat for yourself. 🧘🏻‍♀️
