We’re often so quick to speak kindly to the people we care about…
but when it comes to ourselves? The tone suddenly changes.
If a friend came to you feeling overwhelmed, scared, or stuck, you’d never tell them to “get over it,” “try harder,” or “stop being silly.”
You’d soften your voice. You’d offer compassion. You’d remind them they’re doing the best they can.
You deserve that same kindness.
Speaking gently to yourself isn’t self-indulgent. It’s essential.
It calms the nervous system, builds resilience, and helps you move through challenges with steadiness rather than shame.
So next time your mind gets loud, try asking:
“If someone I loved felt this way… what would I say to them?”
Then offer yourself the same care.
You matter just as much as the people you look after. 💛
