Future Footprints Occupational Therapy Future Footprints Occupational Therapy service provides a client-centred approach within a holistic Conductive Educational framework

Future Footprints Occupational Therapy (FFOT) aims to develop individual skills and achieve greater independence through supported participation in activities. The Occupational Therapist works with the child and their family, to create a program according to the child's individual strengths, challenges and goals. Services may include:
- Fine and gross motor strengthening
- Improved coordination and positioning
- Improved sensory processing (touch, smell, taste, visual,
sound)
- Behavioural management through strategies such as Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA)
- Self-esteem and anxiety management
- Everyday task training e.g. washing hands, brushing teeth, dressing etc. FFOT also provides advice and educates parents and families, as well as staff at kindy's and schools, on what assistance they can provide to facilitate their child's progress. FFOT can be claimed under:
- National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA)
- Better Start
- Medicare provider with various claiming options including
Private Heath (available for eligible children)

👣 Warm welcome to Katie, our new Developmental Educator! We are truly excited to have her on board.
Let us introduce her to you:

“Katie is a Disability and Developmental Educator graduate who completed her studies at Flinders University in 2018. Katie has developed a range of capabilities that have allowed her to become a passionate educator in developing and implementing strategies to support client independence and engagement to achieve their goals.

Katie has worked previously as a ‘School Support Officer’ working alongside students with specific needs such as Autism Spectrum Disorder, Intellectual disabilities, ADHD, vision/hearing impairments and physical disabilities to enable the students achieve academically, physically, and socially.

In her free time, she likes to go to the beach, socialising and play hockey. Katies is excited and is looking forward to working along side her new clients."

‼️ Road works alert! ‼️ Ballara Street is suppose to be closed from South Road due to road works. FF carpark remains accessible and open, but you cannot turn onto Ballara Street from South Road, must arrive from the back streets. Road works were meant to commence last week but did not happen. We expect this to affect us as of today. Apologise for the inconvenience and please note it should be only for a few days. Please see ‘official info’ attached.

* Visual perception
* Critical thinking skills
* Recognition of shapes, numbers, colours and emotions
📌 Ideas on differentiation to suit a variety of abilities - including how to involve siblings in the fun learning activities

⭐️ Christmas came early - we’ve got some exciting news! Service expansion is on its way, our new OT, Kate and Developmental Educator, Bailey are now taking bookings for next year!

📆 Initial sessions can be booked for December and sessions can start as early as January or T1, 2022! Spots will be filling fast, so if you are on the hunt for enthusiastic, fun and flexible OT and / or DE sessions, don’t hesitate to contact us!
