π₯ACL injuriesπ₯
The anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) is commonly injured in pivoting and landing sports as it aims to resist anterior translation of the tibia and rotational loads.
The Lachman test is one of the clinical tests that can be used to aid in the diagnosis of an ACL injury. The test has 85% sensitivity and 94% specificity.
The current worldβs best practice following an ACL injury is to undertake a 3-month rehabilitation program to assess if surgery is required or not.
