Elemental Health and Nutrition

Elemental Health and Nutrition Functional Medicine aims to find the root cause of illness by looking deeper into a persons biochemi When this balance becomes disrupted, illness can occur.

Every aspect of your body, even your DNA, is composed of an abundance of vitamins and minerals, which exist in perfect harmony. Nutritional medicine aims to bring the body back into equilibrium through dietary and lifestyle changes, and focused supplementation. A nutritional consultation involves taking a thorough case history, analyzing your diet, and taking lifestyle factors and day-to-day stressors into consideration. This holistic approach helps to get to the true root of your issue, and not simply treat your symptom. The following conditions are among those that can benefit from a nutritional consult.

- Constant stress
- Poor sleep
- Fatigue
- Brain fog
- Anxiety or depression
- Learning difficulties
- High histamine
- Methylation issues
- Poor weight management
- Digestive issues
- Cardiovascular issues

I also have a strong interest in mental health issues, methylation and genetic polymorphisms, which can benefit from targeted functional testing and precise supplementation.

Do you find yourself reaching for a second (or third) coffee at 3:00 PM just to survive the afternoon? ☕️

It’s easy to joke about "getting older," but chronic afternoon slumps aren't a requirement of aging. They are a loud signal from your mitochondria—the tiny power plants inside your cells—that they are struggling to produce energy efficiently.

Masking the fatigue with caffeine or sugar only delays the crash. At Elemental Health, we look at your metabolic health to fix the source of your energy, not just the symptoms.

A client recently came to me feeling "constantly overwhelmed." She’d tried meditation, weekly massages, and "slowing down," but the anxiety and exhaustion wouldn't budge.

She thought it was just her busy schedule. It wasn't.

After some detective work, we found her "stress" was actually a biochemical response to blood sugar instability and a thyroid that was struggling to keep up.

You can’t "mindset" your way out of a nutrient deficiency or a hormonal imbalance. When your internal chemistry is off, your brain sends out SOS signals that feel like stress and brain fog.

The takeaway: If your "self-care" isn't working, it’s likely because we haven't found the root cause yet.

Does this sound like your "stress"? Let’s chat in the comments—I’d love to hear what you’ve been feeling lately. 👇

We’ve all been there: walking into a room and completely forgetting why, or struggling to remember a conversation from just yesterday.

While it’s relatable, persistent "brain fog" and memory lapses are often the result of underlying biochemical imbalances—ranging from gut health to nutrient deficiencies. Your brain shouldn't feel like an old computer trying to run new software.

✅Clear thinking starts with the right fuel and a balanced internal environment. If "where did I put my keys?" is your daily catchphrase, try these three "Brain-First" habits this week:

✅Hydrate with Electrolytes: Low-level dehydration is a silent focus-killer. Add a pinch of sea salt and lemon to your water to ensure your brain cells are actually absorbing the moisture.

✅Prioritise Choline: Found in egg yolks and walnuts, choline is a precursor to acetylcholine, the neurotransmitter responsible for memory and learning.

Watch the "Sugar Spikes": Sudden drops in blood sugar can mimic or worsen brain fog and irritability. Pair your fruit or carbs with a protein or fat to keep your focus steady.

I specialise in helping my clients move past these "senior moments" by looking at the gut-brain axis—where 95% of your serotonin is made. Which of these three tips are you going to try tomorrow morning? Let me know in the comments! 👇

Ever feel like you have 50 browser tabs open in your brain and 49 of them are frozen? 🖥️

We live in a world of digital overstimulation, but often the "broken focus" we blame on our phones is actually happening at a cellular level. Sudden drops in blood sugar can mimic or worsen ADHD symptoms, leaving you irritable, scattered, and reaching for the nearest caffeine fix.

Stability in your diet = stability in your day. When we balance your glucose, we balance your brain.

Are you asking apps or AI for health advice instead of a professional?

An app can track your data, but it cannot truly understand why you feel tired or how your health has changed. If you have been told your blood tests are "normal" but you still feel unwell, you are not alone.

In my latest blog, I explain why "normal" results do not always mean you are healthy and why you need a real person to find the root cause.

Stop spending $100 on serums if your grocery basket is empty. 🧴

The most expensive creams in the world can’t outperform a diet rich in antioxidants and healthy fats. Think of pomegranates as your internal SPF and walnuts as your natural "filler" for skin elasticity.

When you "Eat Your Skincare," you aren't just chasing a glow—you’re building healthy cells from the inside out.

Which of these skin-loving foods is already in your fridge? Tell me in the comments!

Most people think of "mood" as something that happens entirely in their head. But what if I told you that 95% of your "happy hormone" (serotonin) is actually manufactured in your gut? 🧠

The "Gut-Brain Axis" is a two-way street. If your digestive system is inflamed or out of balance, your mental clarity and mood will be too. This is why "bloated and moody" usually go hand-in-hand.

True nutrition isn't just about weight—it's about fueling the biological factory that manages your happiness.

You can eat all the healthy foods in the world, but if your digestion isn't functioning properly, your body won’t absorb the nutrients it needs. 🤔

When digestion is off, even the healthiest meals can pass through without being fully broken down or absorbed, meaning you might miss out on the vital vitamins, minerals, and energy from your food. This is something I often see during my consultations – where patients are eating well but not reaping the benefits because their digestive system isn’t up to the task.

Supporting your digestion isn’t just about what you eat, but how your body processes it. Let’s talk about ways to optimise your gut health and make sure your body gets the full benefit of every meal.

Fermented foods are a powerhouse for your gut health!
They’re rich in probiotics, which help feed the good bacteria in your gut, supporting healthy digestion, immune function, and even mood regulation. Foods like kimchi, sauerkraut, and kefir promote a balanced microbiome, which can lead to better overall health and increased energy levels. If you’re not yet including fermented foods in your diet, it’s a great time to start!
