Sleep Research Laboratory at Flinders University We aim to investigate sleep & body clocks of good sleepers, those with sleep difficulties & test treatment options. To volunteer please contact our team.

The Sleep Research Laboratory at Flinders University runs multiple projects and are always seeking paid volunteers to be involved in various studies. Both good sleepers and people with sleeping difficulties are welcome to volunteer. If you would like to assist and be involved in our projects please contact us. Current investigations include:
• Treatment study for Individuals with Delayed Sleeping Patterns
• The Circadian (24-hour) Rhythms of Delayed Sleep Phase Disorder (DSPD).
• Cognitive/behaviour therapy (CBTi) and and light therapy for the treatment of Sleep Maintenance Insomnia and improvements in daytime functioning.
• The benefits of brief naps for both good sleepers and sleeping difficulties.
• Circadian rhythm phase shifting with the use of small light sources.
• The effects of pre-sleep technology use on adolescents’ sleep. Description of the Sleep Laboratory:
The newly constructed Sleep Research Laboratory consists of four environmentally controlled bedrooms, experimenter/equipment room, kitchen/lounge area, toilets and shower. The bedrooms are equipped to record EEG, EMG, EOG, movement, breathing, and body temperature and transmit this data to computers. Available for field use are three digital sleep monitors, 30 wrist activity monitors used to measure sleep non-invasively, and 10 experimental light "glasses" used for light therapy. The facilities allow basic research into sleep and circadian rhythms as well as applied research into insomnia treatments. Our Research Team:

Do you have insomnia?
Do you have difficulty falling asleep at night?

Flinders University researchers are seeking individuals to participate in a new treatment study testing a consumer device called THIM.

We are looking for individuals:
• aged 18-64 years
• struggle to fall asleep at night
• are otherwise healthy

Participation involves completing a 40-minute online questionnaire to assess eligibility and completing a 5-minute diary about your sleep every morning for one week. If you are eligible, you may be asked to complete two nights of home treatment.
