Post-holiday bladder check!

The holidays may have been full of booze, coffee, and fizzy drinks… and maybe your bladder wasn’t loving it 😅

If you’re noticing:
😳 Sudden urges to go
💧 Little leaks or discomfort
🚨 Feeling like your bladder is on high alert
…it could be those common bladder irritants causing trouble.

Simple ways to reset include:
💧 Staying hydrated with water, aiming for 1.5-2L day, with the higher end especially important in hot weather, during exercise, or if you’re breastfeeding
⛔ Avoiding “just in case” wees
🥗 Preventing constipation with a balanced, fibre-rich diet
💪 Know your pelvic floor (we can help with this!)
🧘🏻‍♀️ Lean forward, widen your stance and take time to relax when you wee!

Starting the year with our mums & bubs crew, welcoming new assessments and kicking off mat classes today 🤍

We have limited spots available in both our prenatal and postnatal classes, so now’s the perfect time to get in touch if you’ve been thinking about it.👩🏼‍🍼

Katarina is wrapping up her last FIFO week for the year at ✈️🤍

So many important conversations (and wins) around urinary incontinence, prolapse, dyspareunia (painful s€x) and pelvic pain - a huge reminder of how common these issues are and how much support matters.

Back home, Nicole and Amy are holding down the fort at the studio in Adelaide like the absolute legends they are 💪🏽✨ We’ll be sad to say goodbye to Nicole as she heads to Port Lincoln - wishing her all the very best in this next chapter 🤍 (and maybe we can convince her to make a few guest appearances when she’s back in Adelaide 👀✨).

📅 Our final class for the year is Tuesday 23rd December 🎄 We’ll then take a short break and reopen both classes in the studio and pelvic physio appointments in the clinic from January 5th.

Feeling grateful, a little tired, and very ready for a reset. Thank you to everyone who has trusted us with their movement and pelvic health this year 🤍

💩 Let’s talk about something everyone does… but no one really talks about: wiping! 🧻

On a good day, 1-3 wipes should do the trick. If you’re wiping endlessly, scrubbing, or still not feeling fresh - your body is trying to tell you something.

Here’s what might be going on:
💩 Stool consistency - too soft, sticky, or hard can mean extra wiping.
🫣 Pelvic floor - too tight, overactive, or weak can make emptying tricky.
🧻 Technique matters - front-to-back, gentle pressure, no scrubbing.
🍊 Prolapse - can make stool harder to pass.
👶🏼 Post-birth changes - scar tissue can get in the way.
🧱 Constipation & straining - can overstretch the colon, reduce sensitivity, and cause small leaks.

If wiping feels like a full-time job, smear city, or you never feel empty we can help with pelvic physio appointments available at our clinic location in Flinders Park (Tuesday’s only).

Ever heard of “The Knack”? 🤔

In the pelvic floor world, The Knack is a simple yet powerful technique:
👉 it’s about gently tightening your pelvic floor muscles just before and during moments that cause a rise in abdominal pressure - like coughing, sneezing, lifting, laughing, or even getting up quickly. 😅

That quick squeeze helps your pelvic floor brace against that pressure, giving your bladder extra support to assist in preventing leaks. Think of it as your built-in reflex that is subtle, quick, and easy to practice anywhere!

So next time you feel a sneeze coming on and you’re worried about leaking, try The Knack for some extra protection. 🫶🏼
